95% of the people that are/were with Crystal Web, were OpenWeb customers.

We moved away from OW because of account sharing, bad support and unsecure accounts:

Can't play pubg and pubg mobile today. Usually it works. Works on Vodacom data

So everyone is saying OW is crap, I get that, currently Crystal web is non existent. Everyone with the most amazing internet experience in the world apparently does not want to share their recommended ISP for some reason
 
Just read the remarks about Openweb. Who is a good ISP to go with then? Openweb's capped dsl packages are very cheap, like R159 p/m for 200Gb unshapped. Is there a catch? I can't immagine their service can be worse than Crystalweb's is at the moment! :mad:
 
Just to add on, phoned Afrihost and they just said the same as Vox and MWEB - Capped Accounts will not work on OpenServe Fibre if your line is not with them too. Guess I'm farked.

Can someone on Openserve fibre please test this?

@MickeyD - If not a hassle, could you login to an Afrihost/Axxess 1GB account and see if you can auth.

I have successfully used Vox/WA/Afrihost/CW capped ADSL accounts on my Openserve fibre line (who is with WA) with no problems
 
Ok, so my Afrihost account doesn't connect. Tried Axxess trial account and it works! I can't flipping believe it. The only reason why I did not speak to Axxess was because I couldn't get hold of their support team - 15 minutes and no answer!!! Now I'm happy!

I phoned Vox/Afrihost and MWEB - neither could help me though. All of them said it's not possible. Afrihost still doesn't work, Axxess does though.

I think Afrihost locks the account to a single line, maybe thats why. Try unlocking it in the client panel.

Did I say I will recommend a good ISP to you...? Please sign up with OW. You seem to be the kind of customer that they would want.

Vox and Cool Ideas, for the rest try getting small capped accounts to test. This thread is not appropriate to discuss other ISPs though, so these posts might get deleted.

Just to chime in on the OpenWeb debacle, they resell IS like CW used to do before the EvoNet switch. Maybe get a trial account and test.

I think Mweb link your adsl session to your phone number, so it can't be used concurrently although they claim its for security - their backend systems might not support it, just a guess

Edit: Same might be true for Afrihost, however I used one of their prepaid accounts which definitely do work

My son for the entire day couldnt log into Roblox... got home and changed to my AH account and he is playing now. Not sure what is happening at CW at the moment
