Well I and probably many others, have lost all faith in them and I wouldn't put it past them to throw out any lame excuse. Not that anyone gives enough of a shyte about customers to even respond anyway *shrug*

Not sure about that. Last time there was a major DDoS against them, senior IS staff confirmed it in this thread.

Evonet/IS going to pop in and back it up?
 
Think they might have adopted a silence is golden approach. Kind of like bad PR when commenting. You prolong the narrative and keep it alive.

If you stay quiet it dies down faster. Maybe they don't care about the complaints voiced here as the reach is minimal in their eyes?

Shaun is banned. One of the directors died. Another is very ill. This place isn't a priority at all. When Shaun was banned they made a policy that this would not be an "official" support channel.
 
What would the excuse be for routing my traffic via JHB as they don't have the infrastructure in place in Cape Town?

They knew very well there would be a performance impact on all customers connecting via the South and they still forced us to move over and said nothing.

I asked as soon as I noticed this and requested they put something on their network notices but nothing. I asked them to put a notice up when they had issues on the IS backbone and it was proven to them over and over again. Nothing

This total lack of communication to paying customers cannot be defended in my books.

couldn't give a toss about this place being a channel or not ... convey to your customers via any means possible does still exist
 
FFS. Cannot even get Discord to work. Support blames it on.... Wait for it... DDOS. Cannot take this scrap anymore. Moving on to another isp. If only Vox can sort out their website, they would have had a new customer already. Been trying the whole morning to sign up without success.

sure, i made that post in one of the crystalweb threads. one of the attacks we mitigate over 3gigs worth of traffic heading towards cw. not fun.

treebsd do you work for IS? I've seen you in some other threads genuinely trying to help with issues at a technical level
 
No, they've just blocked all UDP traffic, which might affect torrents. Definitely affects most games.
