Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

I'm back online. Called telkom and they lifted the suspension. Horrible speeds though

Hey can you please explain the exact procedure?

I phoned and they could not help. What department did you speak too? What number did you dial? Would be much appreciated

Called 10210, went to the billing department, think it was option 2. Asked the to lift the suspension. Restart my router

I too just got online now...

Strangely!

I'm too scared to even reboot my router!

Why do you want to move your data package? I’m only moving my line, because I’m on the open time package, and not having any issues. I also have a Vox account. I just need to move my line back to Telkom

I wanted to leave because of this messup, and the un-communicated...but nah if it keeps online , i'll stay!

I’m still moving my line to Telkom, but I’m keeping my data package.

Who at telkom billing works on a SUNDAY at 3pm resolving tickets??
Still shocked how my line was connected on a SUNDAY at 3pm?

Nobody works on a Sunday. Your line was migrated over, and was probably sitting in a queue. So must have been an automated or automatic process which was running.

Oh, I would not have known it was online again if it werent for a phone call we received from a family member. We were all shocked that the phone rang because this thing suspended our voice line too.
I thought the PC would show as being connected once the line came up, but it didnt, it showed that yellow disconnected triangle until i rebooted the router.

My antivirus has never been so out of date.

Phoned Telkom and they also unsuspended my line. Crystal web can not help me now. They dont have acess to openserve

Phoned Telkom (again) and they confirmed the line was suspended but paid up (again) and said they would lift the suspension on the voice portion of the line (again) but they couldn't do anything with the data portion and I needed to speak to my ISP.

I explained my ISP are not responding and are pretty much refusing to help at this stage. She gave me the number for OpenServe and said I should maybe speak to them.

Gave OpenServe a call and even though the guy I spoke to does not usually speak to the public, he was a great guy to talk to. He said there was nothing he could do and I needed to speak to CyrstalWeb as that is what was communicated to them during their briefing (at least I think that is what he said).

Thankfully when he rechecked the line he saw that it was actually working now, so it seems that Telkom lifting the suspension of the voice portion also fixed the problem on the data portion. Now I just hope the automatic systems don't kick in and re-suspend the line.

Listening to the Telkom lady and OpenServe guy talking, and reading in-between the lines, I think CrystalWeb owe OpenServe a lot of money and our lines are being held ransom until the money is paid. It is possible EvoNet didn't know about the debt, or did and thought they weren't buying the debt, and now there is a battle between new and old owners as to who should pay it.

For those of us who have managed to get the lines unsuspended, I have a very strong suspicion that if CrystalWeb don't sort this out by months end, we will all find ourselves with suspended lines again.

My line is no longer suspended, had to call telkom to lift the suspension. But now I have 20ms higher latency in games (EU servers). Considering moving my line to the holding pool to see if it helps reduce the latency issue.

Can someone else check if they also have increased latency after lifting the suspension?

I did for the first few hours, then it got back to normal. Not sure why, although tbh it could've been anything causing it really.

I’m frantically trying to get my line into the holding pool, because that last sentence is what I’ve been thinking about for quite a few days now.

However, Evonet is much to blame for this as well, if they believed they aren’t taking on the debt as well. In fact, In most cases, when you buy a company, you taking on whatever debt the previous owners carries. Unless you have an agreement in place, where the previous owners would wipe that debt clean.

CW never charged me line rental for well over a year when i was on 2mb, I queried it twice in that period and kept proof of my query on file. only last year when i upgraded to 4mb they picked it up and started charging me for it, no questions asked and no backpay required. probably happened to others too.

that last sentence is scary , hope it doesnt turn out to be like that.

.

I dont think they REFUSING to help, they are unable to help with no access to openserve's systems.

Now that you mention it, I don't think they charged me for my line either when I first signed up until I contacted their billing dept to highlight their error.

I called Telkom yesterday and they unsuspended my line. Took 10 mins. That ended 2 weeks of no connectivity.
