Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

According to CW, Openserve has released lines into the holding pool today
Telkom knows nothing of this...they just see suspended lines...
I signed up at AH now for full package, hoping they can fight the fight for me.

Good morning - please note our team had a bulk exercise in migrating Crystal Web's services into the holding pool. You will get an SMS to be migrated to another ISP of your choice.

How was this communicated to you?

After confirming with sales at Telkom this the information I have. CW release a whole bunch of lines into the holding pool at 9:30 this morning and many were summarily cancelled. I have requested a new ADSL portion be added to my account with Telkom as my ISP for the time being. This entire thing was because CW refused to hand over the lines to Evonet and weren't paying the Telkom line rentals either. Is there anybody I can contact in regards to litigation as this is ridiculous?

Who cancelled the lines? Telkom?

I can only guess that Telkom has an automated system that cancels after a certain period of non payment but who the he'll knows at this point. Jump ship if you haven't already and eat the cost of a late cancellation and then hope to be able to join whatever lawsuit will eventually come to fruition.

Does adding a new ADSL portion work? or is it subject to a 30 day delay?

Telkom shouldnt be cancelling lines, if the customer is not liable for payment to them. We pay CW/Evonet, its their duty to make sure they pay. If not, then they should close up as a business, and we should be with another ISP. Im going to be extremely angry if my line is suspended if it hits the holding pool.

I can but hope #Afrihost can help me/ us...

When they said they can help me, they were referring to the fact that my line was already registered on their system when I tried signing up for the free 1GB package. They have since sorted that out and i have also since signed up for my normal package plus line with them, still waiting on account details from them...

As we have consistently stated, there is a delay BEFORE all the internal Telkom systems show the lines as being in the holding pool.

I know, just saying what i was told by Openserve. What time those lines appear in the Holding pool is anybodys guess

The lines cannot be "summarily cancelled" if they were it is because the affected customers cancelled them.

Yeh not sure why people cancelled their lines. No need to if you moving the line to the holding pool. Once you cancel that portion, it will most likely go into pending and then cancelled. My line is still up and running, and i havent at any point ask for it to be cancelled. Think people might have gone the wrong route with this

Telkom is not cancelling the lines, that is miss information.
The process worked is as you have been told. You are supposed to get an SMS informing you that you now have the opportunity to get another ISP to pick up the line, give it back to Evonet (CW) or get the ADSL line added to your fixed line telephone account. And then you are free to choose Telkom as your ISP or another, as you wish.
If everything was normal the SMS should come from CW. But in this case, the SMS is probably originating from Openserve.
In any case as was previously posted by the CataclysmZA the article, you have 30 days in which to do this otherwise the line WILL be cancelled and you will have to start again. So the sooner you decide on your ISP and start the process, the better. Don't wait for the SMS either. It is not advisable. Start the ball rolling now, especially if your service has been suspended.
