Crystal web is a flippen joke

I agree with you, when I asked why they don't have a number I was told how brilliant their online support is

Firstly they're not, they are too slow

Second, if I ask why you don't have a number, don't tell me about online support. Answer the question.

So I didn't move to them and glad I didn't.

Online support?
Is that another word for online chat facility?

It seems anyone can be support then.
If all it takes to be support is to tell someone to run a tracert or pathping then they are doing a smashing job.

What happens if your adsl is down and you do not have an alternate way to use the internet? How are you expected to contact Crystal Web via chat if your internet isnt functioning?

Common sense prevails

This is my biggest issue with them, besides the downloading speeds. Almost given up completely. Thinking about moving to a capped Afrihost account now actually.

You depend on your ISP to earn a living, and you buy a cheap basic account? You're an idiot.

I use mweb to access the Internet for my business on a cheap basic uncapped account, it runs full speed no issues 24/7. Turns out I'm a clever idiot.

"I have a problem accessing the Internet, but I need the Internet in order to solve my problem of accessing the Internet"

Wait

What?

When buying a service/product online, one basic check i follow after having read feedback/reviews is whether that business has a contact number [I call and check if it actually works], if they do - they have my business. It's the simple things that matter.

I actually found their support to be of the best currently available in SA. I have been in contact with them due to packet loss issues (Telkom line, not ISP's fault), and on all 3 occasions have they gotten back to me within 30min of logging the ticket.

I fully expected the first reply to be a phone number and calling the OP an idiot who can't google...

No phone number? Seriously? That's just stupid... A 2min billing query(on speaker while doing dishes) ends up with you typing war and peace out into your computer, that's progress?

Do you have an ADSL problem or an ISP issue?

PS. check the sub-forum where you posted.

I blame Crysal Web for stealing DJ from us!! :(
Used to looove his contributions in the Food threads... but now he's only got time to make internet moolah. :(

- Crystal Web does not have a contact telephone number. Which company in the 21st century does not have one? The shop spaza shop down the road, which is run by 2 illegal immigrants who jumped the border has a telephone number.

Which person in the 21st century cannot use google to find a phone number. I found it easily and I am an illegal immigrant running a spaza shop.

I feel the same way....

I've been with them since the very start.

They started off with only one type of uncapped account, and that was a great product. Then they introduced different types of packages, and all of a sudden new clients became unhappy (obviously because they opted for cheaper packages than they needed).

Along with that, their client base grew too fast. Support couldn't keep up and neither could their network.

You'd think they would've learnt from Afrihost's rise & fall (also grew too fast)

Now CW's PREMIUM accounts are excellent, but cost too much for me.

I eventually downgraded to Basic Home, but cancelled my account on the 24th of this month. Unfortunately I'm still stuck with my account for the whole of July.

CW taking the high road on this one or have they just not cottoned yet?

I've nothing against them, but from what I gathered it does seam like they simply just grew to big to fast and can't keep up.

That's a good thing they did something right, however unfortunately they appear to face the same fate as the rest of the ISPs, too little infrastructure too big client base.

I might be wrong, but that's just the observation I get.
