At work but just checked my email. I will slap those details in tonight and come to sing praises or place hexes on the forum once I have logged in to Wildstar!

Voodoo doll standing by.

Hi guys,

We've seen a rise in queries about slow streaming performance from some customers, and there is one common denominator: Unotelly. We've tested on our end and they do appear to be having a few issues here and there. Because streaming is completely uncontended and unshaped on our network, please ensure that if you experience poor streaming, you use the default Crystal Web DNS settings (obtain automatically in your router) and flush your DNS (in command prompt in Windows the command is ipconfig /flushdns. On a Mac it involves kicking it really hard in our opinion, or dscacheutil -flushcache;sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder according to some silly customers of ours using Macs) :p

Quick question

With the temporary IS accounts, do we still use CW's news server or the IS one?

Your Crystal Web news server details will still work. We don't limit you at all to using our news server only on our network.

But then Netflix will not work anymore - thats the point of Unotelly.... or do you mean to chop and change between the two ?

about that....we can't watch netflix hulu without Custom dns :P (unless you start offering that service? lol)

When you use the Unotelly DNS, all your traffic will be routed as if you were living in the country the DNS "fakes" you as living it, this causes services like YouTube/Twitch to route traffic using an international route to you instead of a local cache/CDN that you could stream from if you were using the default DNS.

EDIT:
So I think CW means you should change back when not streaming Netflix/Hulu

No. Not all your traffic. Only the streaming service authentication traffic is proxied. Using unotelly dns will not affect any of your other traffic at all.

PoE latency is not good:

It's very laggy and spiky.

This.
smart dns service's(i don't use unotelly nor do i have any of these problems unlocator(might want to test it)) just change your location data portion of your dns queries (on Some websites)
also he's not recommending swapping

so yeh if your streaming from netflix and it's slow...don't stream :P

PS streaming 720p Netflix with unotelly, no buffering at all.

Well, was on livechat and was asked to reset my router.

This obviously kicked me off of the chat and it's offline now...
