Some major maintenance happened this afternoon on our side. Things should be looking better.

Further maintenance is on-going. Next planned bit of maintenance is scheduled for tomorrow at around 5pm, then on the 6th again.

Wow, I could actually play Star Trek Online on my CW account for the first time. Usually it wouldn't even let me log in. Keep it up guys!
Torrents still suck though... 30-60kbps free account gets linespeed (on a 4mbps line)

Someone add a link to this post in a sig so people can quite down for awhile getting abit annoying when fix has nothing to do with CW(it's the backbone atm) and they are just as anxious as we are :(
also nothing CW does can make it go faster.(unless they put dem engineers at gunpoint? :D )

I can supply a few people with guns to get them engineers asses into gear.

So it will not be done on the 5th anymore?

New target date?

Things are already looking better, but the latest notice is that it should all be completed by then. We're pushing for earlier though, and as of tomorrow everyone should start seeing far superior performance.

CYBERSMART MAINTENANCE

Dear Cybersmart Customer

Cybersmart's network upgrade is now within its final stages.

We've tested and further maintenance needs to be carried out on the 5th of August 2014 from 00h00 to 04h00. Customers in Durban, Johannesburg and surrounding areas may experience slow to intermittent international connectivity during this time.

We have adjusted our dates and customers should expect improved performance on Wednesday, 06.08.2014.

We know you are as excited as we are and we thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Using a vpn to test speed....well thats a first especially since they said they will shape you if they think you are using a tunnel to bypass restrictions :/

Nothing against you but oh god when are we going to move past the assumption of: ZOMG VPN, WTF, UGH, UGH, CAN, ONLY, BE, USED, UGH, UHG, FOR, BYBASSING.

Consider this (please): VPN is also used to privatize your browsing, whether its porn, new24 or religion. It is nothing to do with you, the isp or any one else tbh.

I've discussed this setup in length with CW and it was fine, this is probably just some **** being sorted :)

Agreed. At least demon slaying is go - Thanks :D

PS: That TP router sports Dual WAN setup. Perhaps I should wrt it ;)

As long as I don't end up getting s205s served on office or the NSA sending over some black helicopters :p
(or it is done to muck up network management)

tis cool

I use a vpn also........i'm just saying that they said they will shape :/ imo the vast minority of users use it for bypass(i'd say less than 1%)

@paul so have you disabled that auto flag on account to shape http if using p2p and http same time or a vpn?

Totally, you can do what you want in life but you also have to take responsibility for tools used in such a way.

BTW... can we connect IPV6 to CW at anytime soon or current?

With a fibre connection? Sure

With DSL - a little more tricky considering the way it is rolled out in SA, Telkom infrastructure and all that ...

Why wouldn't you want a free IdeaPad from Lenovo?

Actually there is a way, and we investigated doing this, but the setup is massively complicated. We're not giving up on it though. We want to get the fundamentals sorted first then look at the value-adds.

Heck, let's launch already. :D

If SAPS were giving those away for free, sure
in the same vain in the NSA gave use the helicopters rather than used them to abduct the staff ...
