But yeah I have 3 routers myself, mainly due to the Android devices that don't have strong radios, and my saying always is why put everything wireless on one router if you can spread the load. But my RB750 handles dhcp and everything else.

I'll advocate for a discount for old age pensioners (65 and older): An old age pensioner who signs up an account can put their grandparents onto our service at a 75% discount, provided that the product that the sign their grandparents up for is not cheaper than the product which they sign up for.

The idea comes from a sign at a bottle store that confirms that they do offer credit provided that the applicant is of sufficient maturity (85 years old) and have their parents and grandparents stand surety.

Just told my wife now if I would lose my RB's backup and my router gets struck by lightning, I will NEVER get it the same. You do so many configs on the thing over time it's just not funny.
 
Netflix and Hulu are still unusable this morning, on an otherwise idle 4mbps line/account...

I used to limit downloads to 200kB/s and stream Netflix or HuluPlus with what was left, on WA or AH capped accounts. Perhaps I'll have to go back and just increase my cap.

That is the plan, when the business turns a profit. It does look likely soon though thanks to a bit of help from people here and from MyBB

That's why I kept my AH account for now and took the R329 punch to try CW out. But to be fair for me to cancel with AH and stay with CW I must at least have 10 days+ of a good product to move completely over. EVERYTHING entertainment comes from the net in my household, so a product that under performs will get me in ****e with the misses.
 
Some feedback from using my account since yesterday.
So far used 202MB

Diablo and WoW latency was 400ms+, Webafrica was sub 200ms as expected.
Tested a few random video streaming sites, no luck speed was around 30kbps. Telkom uncapped & Web Africa capped 3mbps-3.5mbps.
Twitch did not work, streaming was around 15 - 30 kbps.

Youtube worked fine.

Will see if it improves in the coming week.

Strange, I managed 4.9GB yesterday without even trying.
CS:Go Latency was lower to EU servers.
I was able to stream 1080p via Youtube which I've never been able to do.
As well as streaming HD sport via ACEstream which I've also never been able to do.

This is in actual truth an interesting development, MTN may improve with AH in line with broadband services, imagine MTN started a new ISP... AH is already integral with MTN, only time will tell. In CW own regard, they need competition in order to prove them better than the others.
 
performance seems to be adequate. havent looked at my afterhours speeds. but currently getting 49kps on game of thrones. on a 4 mbs line. what is concerning me is that i cannot using gmail if im using a unotelly dns. is there anyway to get around this?

This industry is an ecosystem of competitor-colleagues to make things work. Our surest guarantee to customers of quality of service is that our service can be cancelled for month end and the customer can with minimal fuss to the customer sign up with another provider who similarly operates with a month to month term. We act as a guarantor to other ISPs that provide a month to month position. My greatest hope is that MTN do not interfere with some of the core attributes of Afrihost and allow Afrihost to continue to be a benevolent player in the industry.

I use Unotelly and gmail together?
 
Download speeds (http) are a bit messed up.

Getting between 60kbs to 110kbs.

Normally get a minimum of 300kbs on Mweb.

Crystal Web has indicated that they are experiencing some international issues.

Hope it's sorted soon!
 
cant stream a youtube video, but my backup 8ta 10gbs is working perfectly. gmail is working again now. Lets hope the international link gets sorted soon
 
Downloading has been bad so far on this account (nntp) getting between 80-150kbs on 4meg.Internet browsing seems ok. Tried twitch last night and it buffered every few seconds or so. Will keep testing.
