Do you need full speed nntp and p2p at all times?

We're going to introduce capped as well, but we've got some awesome ideas for that too. It's now a technical limitation that's preventing us from introducing it just yet.

Yeah, for me capped accounts are the way to go!

Uncapped in SA is too much of a fruit salad tbh! Too many variables/unknowns. One is always speculating, when performance is down. Is it shaping? is it throttling? is it the network? is it exchange congestion? etc etc etc With the capped accounts I'm currently using I know if performance is off it's Telkom related 99% of the time. No need for me to harass my ISP and burden their call centre running trace routes and/or other performance related tests. Get Telkom to recreate the port and we sorted...

I would imagine capped is also more easily managed for an ISP! No guessing what capacity is required for the upcoming months, no having to teach customers about shaping and throttling, no uncertainties regarding margins, no bandwidth hogs like mika100 doing 1000's of gb's every month... :D

I may be wrong though...

We're trying to remove those and make it really simple though. These new Fusion uncapped accounts are really easy - unshaped, then shaped on very specific protocols that release between midnight and 7am. Capped we'll do, but not just yet. We need to tweak the roll over systems.

Oops, I've said too much.

Well preferably yes, but tbh I could see myself going for a capped account with minor daytime shaping for nntp and p2p if it was cheaper. Most of my downloading is handled by sickbeard between 3am and 6am, but on the odd occasion something will come out and I will want to watch it the same day. I'd be perfectly happy if it downloaded at around 200K instead of 450K on a 4Mbps account. The fact that there is a cap should allow you to lower the amount of daytime shaping compared to an uncapped account because you wouldn't carry the risk of the odd heavy downloader abusing the light shaping by doing hundreds of gigs. Obviously, unshaped at all time is better, but then I think there is room in the market for a lower priced shaped capped account with good top up pricing.

Just because it needs to happen occasionally.

Had to chat to support regarding my account (since it hit the limit)...

As always, the guys on the live chat are always friendly and sort the issues out quickly, so its always a pleasure dealing with them.

Crystal Web is introducing a referral system. You may now signup directly from our website, and if need be, your friends and family can talk to us about the products and we'll walk them through the signup process. There is now a link on our site to signup. http://www.crystalweb.co.za/

How the referral system works:

When signing up, the new customer needs to add your name as the referrer. If they omit this, you won't get your referral discount.
For every referral, you get R10 off your subscription for your account, for life, even if you change accounts with us.
There are no limits, so you can essentially get your account for free, for life, from Crystal Web, simply by referring friends, family and colleagues.

Simply direct them to our website by social media, email, or word of mouth and ensure that they use your name on the signup application, and we'll take care of the rest.

The basic terms for now:

If you cancel and resubscribe later, you will forfeit all referral discounts.
The discount applies only for the duration the referred customer remains an active customer with Crystal Web

When are you finalizing the capped accounts? As good as the fusion accounts are, I'd rather swap the uncapped portion for more unshaped gigs thus enabling a consistent experience throughout the whole month. I don't want to be dreading the last ten days or so of every month knowing the experience will be marginally worse because I'm now on uncapped and not unshaped.

I concur
