We did post our temp phone number for support if need be.

I know.
I'm being a pedantic bastard for no reason.
Ignore me.

I am always prepared for all eventualities.
I'm asking silly questions without taking into account the knowledge of the users.

This ISP will never get noticed if it is so quiet here. Get a troll in here or pull a plug somewhere and create a fight already!

Problem identified. There is a hardware failure and it is being swapped out as we speak and systems moved to a redundant system. ETA for resolution is 30 to 60 minutes.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Seems they've taken your request to heart!! Now that's outstanding customer service? :p

Lol, not really what I had in mind for this time of the day!
That said...
The cricket is still streaming flawlessly via SuperSport.

Ja, mine is streaming SD quality on my Afrihost capped backup account. On CW I was getting HD quality... :o

How do I know if it is streaming in HD or SD?
The quality does look good to me, but I'm not sure.

Networx report speeds between 180kB/s - 270kB/s.

SD...
HD is 400KB/s +

Supersport have HD streaming now?
I've seen people referring to it, but there has been a huge improvement in quality overall.
None of those blocky images.

Edit:
My quality has dropped now.
It averages now about 60kB/s and although the view is still okay, the image is a lot much more fussy and softer.

Apparently they launched it recently.

Apparently.. I've heard a few people mention it.

Yep, it auto adjusts depending what line speed you have. Never expected that from SS.

@ CW

A while back you were not able to restrict line speed on your uncapped accounts. Have you managed to implement this yet?

I have no need for it anymore given the level of performance you have provided, but asking anyway if the need arises again..

Ja, mine is currently running at around 50kB/s-80kB/s!! Picture is crap!!

Not sure if Supersport streaming auto adjusts according to line speed but on my 10mb capped account, with next to nothing else running on the line, I should be getting HD...

Okay we're 99% back up and running. All new systems are operational, but there is some caching happening on the new hardware that can take some time to complete, but your speeds should be mostly resolved now.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Ya, the auto adjust is not working like it should at the moment. Don't know what to do about it though...

Tested now. Not actual HD but far better. Peering issues remain though and it's one of those services where every ISP has looked at it and pretty much accepted that there's nothing more that we can do to better the performance now - it's up to them.

Looking good...

HD streaming back... (albeit temporarily).
