Will do, and I appreciate the eagerness to help. Systems are looking good though. We have a monthly standing order capacity upgrade which by the looks of things will give us headroom, growth, and current performance.

BUT, this month's data is proving a little anomaly again. We gave free unshaped data and customers started hitting it within 2 days, I kid you not. At that rate we'd have to can giving out this data entirely. It places massive strain on the network when guys hit the network hard like that. Hoping it smooths over in terms of usage over the coming months though.

Guilty... but it was necessary. Wife's phone needed a new ROM as the battery was lasting less than 7 hours!

LOL I doubt your 1.7gig download was the cause :p I guess CW referring to some guys that used up their 100gig allocation in 2 days :wtf:

Off topic: Omega just released v24 updated to NH4 firmware :D good news for your SO's phone as NH4 has better battery, bad news for CW coz you need to pull another 1.7gigs hehehehehehe

...How do you feel about throttled NNTP during "peak" hours?
Say, restricted to 30% of line speed (My netflix was unaffected while I was testing it)
...So is it ok if I restrict to 300 outside of 11pm-6am? Or is it preferable that i block completely?
OK, I'll leave it on. Pretty sure it will be very low traffic though, given the normal time of releases...
You'd be better off pausing it completely. I did not limit my NNTP and as I mentioned previously, web browsing suffered.
(By the way, this with shaped speeds of 25-50KB/s.)

Will see what happens if/when I exceed my 100GB unshaped allowance.

Just spoke with Scoop's MD and there are some cool things coming on the Mikrotik side of things. ;)

Yussie... you are such a tease...

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest Gladys whilst you withhold this information.

@CW what are the chances of getting discounted packages if we sign up on a contract?

You have a choice. Discounted packages or discounted hardware. You can't have both. :p

You can have discounted hardware plus discounted packages with your referral code.

I can give the Mikrotik a skip and go for the discounted packages rather. I got enough technical headaches at work than to still be breaking my head at home on a RB :p

But seriously, if we sign up for 12 months debit order nogal to make sure you gets your cash will we be entitled to a discount?
Say pay 10% off or something ;)

Lol you don't understand, this is a one time setup and forget about it. My RB's uptime is about 4 months, if it wasent for Eskom it would be 3 years.

How many iterations has your config been through? :D
