He previously tried to do business on mybroadband but was taken to task by fellow mybroadband members. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/615614-Beware-of-fake-cloud-offers-guys

We are somewhat concerned that the actions of this individual may have an impact on our business due to him cloning our communications, our systems, and our value proposition, as well as trying to use the same transit links, as well as actively targeting our customers behind the scenes.

We do not believe that the actions of this individual are above-board, and we highly recommend being cautious in your dealings with him, should you choose to transact with him...

+1

We have confirmed that this individual does not have an account with the upstream provider he claims to utilise. At least not in his name, or his company's name. Unless he is using aliases for everything...

Maybe he is the self appointed unofficial reseller for crystal web?

That particular aspect is a major reason why we have had to act. Fortunately we work on a 24 hour day and the matter will be disposed before the start of business tomorrow.

Skierenw or something. Was also lying about cloud infrastructure

I feel sorry for this poor individual.

Back to topic. CW please advise if we can use both accounts if we opt to migrate to IS? Can we request for migration of the account to after 7th June? I can't really test the line today/tomorrow so not sure how performance would be, but if its slow I might consider the migration

Hi there,

You may only only use one or the other, and ask requests need to be in by the evening of the 7th...

Gotta say, this is very exciting. Congrats to DJ..., Paul and the others.

I'm just wondering about shaping and how it will be applied? How will you guys keep the service on a premium level if you get an influx of new clients who want to use their lines properly?

Remember Afrihost also punt a similar offering and yet a lot of people (me included) are being shaped to hell. Naturally I'm not asking you to comment on Afrihost, but just your own approach to this problem.

Can you use your Crystalweb account anywhere or is it tied to a specific telephone line? My current ISP account can be used anywhere, as long as it does not exceed the maximum amount of concurrent connections. I am often away from my flat for weeks at a time, in which case I enjoy taking my uncapped account with me to wherever I'm off to.

It's just an isp account like AH or any other.
Use it where ever you want.

Many of the uncapped accounts are tied to a certain phone line, and you need to ask the ISP to release them if you want to use them on another.

huh?
I only know of Telkom that is linked.
Which other isp links it's accounts to the land line number?

CW don't ask for any land line numbers, they just provide login details.

For security reasons we lock your account to your line, but from within your support portal you will be able to unlock the account yourself. In addition, you can always ask support to do this for you...

My Mweb account is linked to a landline number and I believe WebAfrica does it as well. My free 1GB Afrihost account is also linked to a single number, although this is probably to prevent abuse. I was under the impression it was standard practice.
