We're currently working on FTTx projects btw. We have a separate division with a separate sales and support complement for the provision of fibre access.
 
D3 playable in Joburg. Just. The occasional spike into the red, but mostly yellow (450ms or so)

How do you guys find your general browsing...? The SO is sitting more and more on me about it "feeling" very slow to her and in all fairness I agree. The animated gif thread has been loading for the last 5 minutes without getting very far...? (10 MB uncapped)
 
I wonder whether there is a particular item of software update that takes place at that midday or if it is just kids coming home to explain the near 2pm spike. The 6pm spike makes a lot of sense.
 
More likely the shaper doing a reconfigure or log rotate or something
 
IS account giving issues not able to watch a YouTube video.

First time tonight that I am experiencing issues. Streaming is buffering quite a bit on streams that were fine earlier in the month....youtube and southpark.cc.com both a little annoying to watch, watching the bandwidth usage and usually it sits at 1,7Mbps and stays there. Tonight its jumping all over the place.

Mentioned to support via live chat a few days about the erratic throughput, no feedback yet.

I think the duty agent is busy with it a streaming query at the moment, if not please drop me a PM to investigate if something has gone amuck on our side.

While live chats do sometimes have a bit of a delay sometimes - multiple chats and agents multitasking - if it goes beyond a few minutes something is not right and you can escalate

What! Oh thank goodness, my flatmate has been complaining heavily about daytime speeds on the IS account. Going to switch back to it, hopefully save you guys some cash and now I can test Wildstar on good ol CW again :)

I might not be able to do much about the length, but I can make sure it's a good connection. mmm Sounds a bit xxx :p
 
Sad to report that Wildstar is still performing terribly. Latency was averaging about 500ms, spiking up to 800ms, on a low level character with pretty much nothing around.

Guess I will switch to IS for gaming and CW for everything else! Please get it sorted before month end! Really want to avoid the router dance next month.

Sadly there is only one download link and it is to a single threaded download site. :/ Looks like I will schedule a Sunday 1am wake up call and start the downloads then :).
 
so i can feeling browsing is lot slower than usual, also tried downloading plex media server last night and every time my download was corrupt as it would time out at 20Mb or 31Mb of a 61Mb file, I eventually had to logon to Afrihost account to download Plex.

Packet-loss is also still a big problem.
 
Yeah this packet loss is a issue for me only with gaming (I suppose it is really the only issue) and unfortunately I don't have the option to dial into a capped account. I Game sometimes when the daughter and wife streams (yes I am one of the lucky few without restrictions from the wife :p ) and if I would dial a capped account they will deplete it FAST.
