Fair enough..

I just think its a bit unreasonable on his part to be complaining when the kind of sustained download speeds would have seen him being labelled as an abuser on any other consumer grade uncapped product.

Well he's probably a little child, "I want! I want! I want! Waaaaaaaah!"

thanks, we've made it a rule in this business that only once we've properly established an intentional AUP violation - running a botnet, engaging in SPAM - will the term abuser enter discourse -- it is a term banned from use amongst support staff

while we really would like many of our customers to use slightly less of the capacity (or to bring us more low usage customers to balance things out a little) - and make no mistake about it profitability is a consideration in this business - non-conformance with some sort of ISP driven model is not in our view abuse [we might send a friendly email to some customers asking them to trim down usage under certain conditions, but it is always a request - never a threat]

True, but he's perfectly reasonable in expecting the product to work as advertised, and we agree.

Yeah, but there are better ways of helping get a beta product to work than throwing a temper tantrum on the forum.. :)

Wow, really like the CW attitude.
One thing though. My account shows that my monthly payment is 6 days overdue. I paid via EFT, Standard Bank to Standard BankBank on the 31st. I contacted support via email on Friday and provided POP, but no action so far.

If they havn't cut you off then you shouldn't be worrying.

Been focusing on a few other issues so far this month. Apologies for the late reflecting, but it hasn't impacted on your account status with us or any other statutory bodies, I can assure you.

So many users fear their ISPs with the Iron Fist of Terms and Conditions.
I respect you guys for trying very hard to make the Internet a usable place. I just hope the network doesn't become that of "abusers".

I think there are many terms for abusers. for one I am a streaming abuser, some other guy might have a lot of steam games, like the one I am downloading now is about 20GB. On how many GB can a person be classified as a abuser though? I average about 170GB to 250GB a month when there are no steam games updating. In vacation times it can go well over 300GB, and every MB is legal. :) But I get what you are saying.

Well, the guys that circumvent normal protocol. Or the ones who download the Internet. Twice.

I am no small user myself, and 2 people in the house (one who has discovered torrents) means that the account sees some heavy usage. Hell, the torrent user is of the "senior" variety and he uses more than I do! Be careful what you wish for, silver surfers can sometimes be even more taxing on the usage!

So thanks for the email :). I can't wait for my new credentials! :D. I have a lot of downloading to catch up on :D but don't worry they will be scheduled for 10pm until 6am :).

I did not put up the stats to be pulled to pieces but show how flawed/wrong the system functions in its current state.

I've got full stats from the 1st of July to today. that should be considered research and invaluable info for CW as few other if any other user/s did the same.

plus my account had been hacked despite using firewalls and antivirus apps. around 180gb before I've discovered it on the 3rd of August. never happened before as all my other accounts are locked to a single phone line.

I do not download from torrents, news servers, http, but premium encrypted content costing a small fortune.

no bots. no spamming. no accelerators.

only a download manager for scheduled downloads.

but when your internets simply stop working its not nice and I had to sign up for another account just to be able to browse mybb for one...

I've provided tracers, pings, postping's and complete line stats etc to help not only fixing my account but other accounts and/or the system as well.

I've showed that the 105.xxx ip range worked like a rocket.

ppl should rather read the full posts and not two or three words and then scream murder.

there's way to many ppl on this forum that only post to get their post count up and not offering a true contribution.

Awesome email, but one question: How will the usage patterns not change with some of us using backup accounts ISP-Other and or temp accounts CW-IS?
