Sounds like you're potty training some people :D

Back to topic. I'm glad after doing the survey, seeing that CW is actually considering high capped/unshaped accounts, as well as Uncapped/Unshaped after business hours accounts.

Shaped during business hours, less shaped between 5pm and 12am and unshaped or even less shaped 12am to 6am under R400 a month would be nice.

Dynamic shaping... Firstly prioritise by user based on usage, then by protocol.

Assuming the pipe is constant, you just need flow control.

User profile-based shaping carries further costs that drive the operational expenditure up as well. We're not really fans of usage-based thresholds as well, but we're looking at this carefully internally.

Makes note to read the thread when wife is not nearby. She might think I am in the naughty section of MyBB. :p
or convince her to join MyBB and engage with CW - we try to provide service to all our customers

CW, is there anything wrong with the internet?
Cant break the 300KB mark on 10Mbps, and youtube wont go higher then 100KB.

So if you go to the crystalweb.co.za site one of the advert thingies shows:

"Add-ons should instead offer true value. Like access to the best news server for free, with 2000+ days retention. And that’s just a sneak peak under the Crystal Web add-on hood"

...why make it an add-on if its free, just include it in all the packages by default.

I'm not sure I'm following you here.

I read it as free and not an add on.

CW, the auto pop open with chime of Live Chat just scared the living cr@p out of me.

Guess I spent to much time there:D

Ok, lets say you buy an uncapped account from cw, according to this advert thing, you have an add-on you can get for your account that is free.. that gives you access to the cw news servers.

This temporary website will eventually be replaced with a proper one.

Now from a new customer point of view I would assume to use my own paid for news server access/usage if i wanted anything beyond 30-60days or at full line speeds, unless you make a big red fat circle or type it in huge bold comic sans to check out all the add-on options..

Why should you have to get the add-on if it is free, just include it with the account from the get-go and list it under the specs of the account.

Dumbing it down further than that would involve me having to go buy an ipad and post it from there

Well, it is a free add-on to your account? But I get what you are saying.

Ah that is probably my fault and it has to do with third parties. We don't want services outside our general control to be thought of as integral to the product. The premium newsgroup is a service we provide for our customers that is added on

Firefox has add-ons and they are free. Even though they are free, you still have to "activate" them.
