When we get to page 665 CW will be forced to launch.
Nope at page 666 we will have to disclose our hellishly bad capped, throttled and shaped products - noticed a type in the presentation earlier - its KB not GB

Thats your problem not mine :p

But I do understand... the best we as consumers can do is thumbsuck a value actually...

+1. I was thinking about it today and that portion of the survey is utterly pointless. All it does is demoralises CW as none of us want to pay too much not knowing the actual cost and we only really put down what we can afford (or want to) which of course isn't always all that much and undoubtedly won't pay for the provisioning of the said service.

At the end of the day CW need to decide what they can offer at what price while still keeping them in business and the customers will sort the rest out.

I wouldn't think it demoralises them at all, its a glimpse into the mind of their consumer which is always useful.

It's easy right down every price(per GB and in 1c increments) between axxess and afrihost(webafrica is not cheap if you invalidate free afterhours promotion) and put them all on a dart board and throw a dart while blindfolded, If you miss the dart board you have to undercut axxess :P

CW can we please get an info portal...one place to see *all* the info.

status of network
status of account (billing)
usage on account
usage on nntp server

Like one screen that I can bookmark with no scroll / tabs.

Bonus points for some cool stats too. e.g. I'd change my usage patterns if I know where/when my usage is causing problems. Much like I try to move my electricity usage off peak periods if its not an inconvenience...doesn't really affect me and helps the country a bit so why not.

You'll def get paid sooner if my amount outstanding is on the same page as cool info. :D

All of that, bar the nntp stats are already built, as well as more cool tools to self support - we're looking at introducing a live network view as well to help our customers help us. It is on the cards, but is not as simple as routing stats to a page. There are various commercial and legal reasons as to why this may not be immediately possible, but it is on the radar.

Glad to hear it.

Currently sitting on usage of 8gb on my 4mb line. Anything good linux distros out there

@Paul or DJ...

my line looks like it's running properly at last, not sure if you guys have picked up anything on your side? I've only noticed 2 blips in the last 2 days and strangely around 22:00 both times. Telkom called me today with the promise of calling again tomorrow to check if all is okay. Given the history with the issue I'm just a tad weary to let them off the hook too soon.

Telkom have confirmed with us that the fault has been cleared on their end, so you should be good to go, but any indication of issues and let us know. :)

Please tell the techs to look at Steam downloads vs Youtube shaping. Right now running both at the same time will push youtube to 240p whilst the steam download runs flat out.

I'd prefer if youtube runs at max available with steam downloads sucking up whatever capacity is left.

Not sure how feasible that is on a that kind of micro management scale though - ignore if not.
