Just as Sony, Apple routes through them first, i so HATE that. Why I got myself a Android stick, Netflix and such flawless. Unfortunately for my brother the ATV update made his Netflix buffer constantly, oh well i did warn him.

I agree as well. Download speeds and the service levels are great. I am sure the streaming problem is Telkom - East Cape related as users having similar problems seem to be from the same province...

Have to agree. I'm on the 10Mbps uncapped unshaped and it is the best service level i have ever had from an ISP.
Keep up the great work CW! And can't wait for the user CP and for the exchange monitoring to take flight.

Got me one of those RK3188 sticks. Combine the android stick with XBMC and you have a winner, all the latest free series, movies and tv stations you need :D I could cancel the DSTV tomorrow and not miss it but the SO prefers channel flipping to the keybooard fly mouse #sheesh
CW works great on XBMC btw

Wayne,

Can you send me the data (to our support desk) for this and I'm going to escalate this off to our networking guys to investigate to see if there are any issues on the QoS side. Perhaps other AppleTV customers can do the same if you notice the same oddities with the device as it will assist us.

I've already asked them to have a look and they say that can't find anything out of the ordinary, but if you have some solid info you can share that may help.

Also, next it happens, please hop on to live chat so I can watch the throughput live and I can monitor it myself to see what's happening.

Is it only Vevo traffic, or all traffic over the AppleTV?

If the download speeds are now good then it looks like the routing issues in the Eastern Cape have been sorted properly which is good news. :)

*SIGH* So I should have rather bought the Roku 3. Too late now!! Had it too long to take it back..........

Has your brother managed to sort out streaming on his ATV.

Am streaming now so will go onto live chat now and ask them to look.. Seems to be all ATV traffic as have to run trailers at SD otherwise they buffer for ages (30s - 60sec) before they start.

They said they will address the issue with the next firmware update. All I can say is good luck though. :)

Yup, we've established that the AppleTV issue is probably not our side at all after more testing. Hopefully resolved pretty soon though if it is a Telkom issue.

I have sent a PM to Charl with the log. Lets hope he can sort it out for me..I personally think it's a dorpie problem - we are at the @rse end of the world we get all the old ****ty equipment....

My experience regarding mac/iBollie with some fanboys at work:

Day 1:
fanboy: "I installed this (aircraft Navigation) program on the aircraft laptop but it is unable to update the database."

Me: "OK, I'll come have a look." (Sitting there for 5-10 min trying to see what it wrong, open up google and search something) "Internet is working. Did you restart the laptop?"

fanboy: "No, is it necessary to restart?"

Me: (Thinking: Duh {"No **** sherlock"}, program most probably said restart after installation, but OK.....) "Let's see what happens after restart." ...Restarting laptop.

Me: (starts nav program, update database) "See, working, anything else?"

fanboy: "No, thank you, I didn't know I have to restart."

Me: "Pleasure, have a nice day."

Day 2:

fanboy: "Oh, come quickly, there is a few people that cannot connect to the WiFi!"

Me: "OK, here I am, what now?"

fanboy: "I rebooted the modem/router and now everybody is on the WiFi. We are sorted."

Me: (Duh...{"Thank you captain obvious"}

Moral of the story: reboot, try again then trouble shoot further.

Sorry, if any iBoy takes offense, sorry. reboot or command override (did I say it right? please correct me if I wrong) or whatever you call it. Windows needs to restart after installation of certain programs.

P.S. I am not a Mac/iPhone/iPad/iPod/iTv/iCr@p fan. So bite me if you don't agree:D

HAHA. That's why I asked my friend the other day why he buys a Iphone 5s. He said because it is stable. When I asked him what he actually did with the phone regarding it's "stability" he said whatsapp, facebook, email, the normal apps a Nokia Symbian phone can do. Then I proceeded to ask him if he only does that on his phone, why can't a phone like my 5.5" Hisense phone do the same at a lesser price? He said because it's not apple, so there we have it, it's just a phone made to brag with lol. Sorry for the people here who own's iphone's, not trying to be nasty with you, but no iphone user could ever justify the price to me before.

Is there any way of checking whether our accounts are currently logged in?
I seem to be having an issue on my side, the router is connecting to Afrihost regardless of the fact that CW's login details are entered.
I haven't changed a thing since CW worked on my account/router settings.

Just FYI, you don't have these issues with a Mikrotik router. :p (Here's hoping you don't have a Mikrotik router, otherwise I will have egg on my face :D )

I've never had this happen before and have no idea how to solve the problem.
I'll contact CW support later and see if they can help.

Sure you don't have a pppoe connection on your pc connected to AH?

its their bait marketing... you start with free unshaped data... then they sign you up for 12 months because you want a mikrotik... then you'll want to sign up for unshaped uncapped data....

before you know it, you'll be short a kidney or 2 to finance your addiction. you have been warned.

P.S. If you wanna sign up, please use my referral code....

To everyone else, i called dibs!

Thank you for the response.

Hope they launch officially soon as I'd like all these deals and promotions neatly laid out to properly evaluate :)

Will certainly consider CW to switch to when I'm no longer happy with my current service.

Many thanks JustinB. And yes, if I sign up I'll ask for your referral code :P
