I can give the Mikrotik a skip and go for the discounted packages rather. I got enough technical headaches at work than to still be breaking my head at home on a RB :p

But seriously, if we sign up for 12 months debit order nogal to make sure you gets your cash will we be entitled to a discount?
Say pay 10% off or something ;)

Actually we'll do the config and maintenance for you. You'll not have to do much at all other than plug it in and sit back and relax.

But yes, contracts may attract a discount, but there are legal implications we're sorting through as we'd really prefer to avoid registering as a credit provider.

O_o

You okes are brave.

I'm assuming it'll be a cookie-cutter config, with no custom stuff? Will customer have access?

How many iterations has your config been through? :D

A lot of Googling, a LOT of support from the ptawug community (Have a couple of network engineers on the WUG). So it was a bit me, a lot of them when i had no clue what I did. Through them I learned more in 2 months than in the past 20 years of my IT experience. One guy even came to my house, said ok where is the coffee and made me do the setup from scratch to better understand it, after he did a reset on my RB lol.

Wow. Someone who matches my well-intentioned evilness! :D

Cookie-cutter at first, but we recently employed an ex-Telkom bloke who can do these configs pretty easily once a week. Plan is to get some pretty advanced configs going for customers if need be.

Oh, and we welcome Harry to Crystal Web. Telkom's loss is our gain.

We all welcome Harry...

May his years at Telkom prepare him for the chaos that is about to happen :D

Although I will not partake in this new contract, I am just SUPER excited that Crystal Web will be going the Mikrotik route. SOOOOOOOOOO much better than the Billion's we used to get.

Lol you don't understand, this is a one time setup and forget about it. My RB's uptime is about 4 months, if it wasent for Eskom it would be 3 years.

You don't understand, it took me years to train the SO in the art of configuring an internet account on my rebooting my 2750U. I cant just throw this progress away and buy an RB now. It would take 6 months to tran her to reboot the bladdy thing :p

Keep in mind we cannot track our usage yet, so we don't really know how much we have downloaded...

Lol, no this is fairly easy, just plug it out and back in again. :p

Are you guys looking at static ip's at some stage. I might be interested in setting up a online photo server for my clients if the price is right.

Drop us an email at sales setting out your requirements and lets see what we can do

Already possible on our business products - we do the router config for you as well.

Not possible on the standard uncapped products we're currently offering though as the network is not designed to work on static IPs on these accounts, BUT this is something we're currently working on to get right.
