Nah - just be careful of what you do, and where rules are placed.

I am actually rather impressed with 6.19 under some -serious- high load and thousands of queues...

EDIT: New record at 7.6Gbps throughput and some 1,600 odd simple queues :D Yes, even NextGenNews runs Mikrotik!

the mangle rules were all ok yesterday. Though I think i noticed two of them with the same number. I guess it did some housekeeping sometime and fecked them up.

And the FEKKEN weird symptom I was seeing with this was that SOME traffic worked fine. Only SOME traffic. The rest didn't. Obviously the traffic that worked fine did not fall foul of any non-passthrough mangles before it hit the ppp rules...

I just read the transcript now. Support did a decent job there, I reckon. They did some serious diagnostics and were able to pretty much pin-point the Mikrotik as the likely culprit, and also didn't do so from the outset, which would have been the easy thing to do there.

This support staff member just got himself a lick from the Chief Barking Officer. :p

O_O interesting incentives you guys are running over there.

Ponders upgrading to latest firmware....

Hmmmm.. might do so this weekend when I have time if it goes south...

Yup. Good job. I'm not an easy customer! :D

Come guys, we offically need another 789 posts to kill this thread before midnight 30 September! Can we do it?

I am really excited about the microtik routers as well but if i see how many problems the smart guys have with it, not sure if i want one anymore. Watched some youtube videos. I understand it up to a point but then i just lose it totally.

At Crystal Web, we are proud, existing sponsors of The Husky Rescue Centre, who today suffered an unspeakable tragedy, when a massive swarm of bees attacked their beautiful haven. 2 huskies have subsequently died, and another 3 are in critical condition. 25 other dogs are currently being treated by various vets. The news story is here - http://ewn.co.za/2014/09/29/Huskies-...-swarm-of-bees

As existing sponsors, and animal lovers, Crystal Web have already donated a lump sum to the centre, but in addition we will be donating our profits and far more for October to Husky Rescue Centre. If anyone signs up for a new Crystal Web account in the next month, with the following code (huskyrescue02) we will donate R100 to Husky Rescue Centre, up to R50,000 which should cover all necessary expenditure they may incur. No contract lock-ins, and no calendar month's notice, although all accounts will be subjected to our terms and conditions as per the sign up page.

If you were considering moving to Crystal Web, you can now do so, and help us make a difference. I know this seems opportunistic, but we've given as much as we possibly can, and are also sacrificing profit opportunities for a month, so we hope you can see past this as being as such.

If instead you'd prefer to simply make a donation, or if you'd like to make a donation over and above what we will be making, please let us know on our support or billing email addresses and we will facilitate it for you, and ensure that it reaches Siobhan and the rest of the team at The Husky Rescue Centre.

Hopefully you can spread this far and wide, and help us, help them.

This is my worry as well and it is a problem for me to have the Internet down for hours.

I was hoping for help from the community here.

I wish I could have a separate network to play with, but I don't have a second ADSL line.

Would you mind if I paid R200 into your account to donate to them?

We'll add another R10 to all existing customers who do so. Wish we could do more, but there's simply no way to do so. But you absolutely can. Please simply make the payment reference Husky. Thank you, Patrick. :)

You should give a crystal web T shirt with thread killer on the back to the last person who posts in this thread. That might be a collectors item. Or a coffee mug or something else useless.

Horrible news, but good to hear they're getting support. I hugged my cat tightly and hope all those amazing souls get better. Will be donating myself too.

I can help out with R100, no matching of funds necessary (or part thereof).

ROS 6.13 here. To the people worried, don't be. Just keep it simple and the router will do wonders. A CW managed Mikrotik does sound nice though. CW also I will be adding x funds on top of my payment for the Husky thing.
