Crystal Web. Should we abort ship?

When you're trying to become a backbone, internet, and last-mile provider, it might be a good idea to make sure you're protected against DDoS attacks that have targeted your company before in a malicious manner. And, you know, have a back-up backbone while you're transitioning users over to the new one just in case there's an unexpected issue.

The lack of transparency and timely updates reminds me of that period in Afrihost's past where they just couldn't figure out how to run their network over-subscribed, and it ended up in Gian sending everyone a "heart-felt" message at 3AM in the morning.
Why do you think the backup backbone wouldn't also be affected?

Would it matter if I moved my line as well? This affecting data only, because if I use another isp credentials then no issues.

Because it was managed and supplied by IS, not Evonet? The Evonet move is CW's attempt at becoming a backbone provider for other ISPs, and they would be looking at selling access to their backbone to others, including corporate clients.

It will.

CW has a comms problem with their customer base. People (myself included) jump to conclusions because nobody at CW seems to be out there and addressing their customers. Support does not seem to know what is going on. Automated notifications (when they happen) do not build trust or inspire confidence.

A large chunk of IS network got taken down by the previous round of attacks... #justsaying

I had this discussion with them as well, no, you can't keep the line with them as well.

Very happy with my Axxess Premium Uncapped Account 40/20 Mbps for R1500 a month.
The only problem is the congestion on the OpenServe fibre network in the evenings.
And I know it's not Axxess because other people on other ISPs complain of the same thing in our area.

**** me that's expensive.

It's basically a business account. No FUP, no throttling, no limits.

My 50-down/50-up line with the same perks costs R909.

That Axxess pricing is hectic. I see it's similar for other other providers...

Seems to have lasted much less longer than CW's ongoing issues. And CW clients are reporting DDoS attempts on their own connections. Looking at the other threads for Axxess, WebAfrica, CiSP, and Afrihost, they don't seem to have suffered quite as much, if at all.

EDIT: Even treebsd says the same thing, and he works for IS.
