Crystal Web. Should we abort ship?

You guys in the know, should we stay on with CW in light of recent snailish performance or wait it out until network is sorted? Also will this be the last of it?

I'm having that exact same problem at the moment, seems there isn't any good ISP's left.

I need one with a VERY relaxed FUP
 
I've only had good experiences with Telkom since moving back there. HomeUnlimited's FUP on a 20Mb account is so high that I barely reach 1/3 of it in a month.

But yes, abandon ship if the service isn't working for you. You don't have to stay and you don't have to be loyal to an ISP. Go where the service is.
 
Its jump ship... you cant abort a ship as its already in existence and sailing.

Also having a terrible experience on the new user accounts. I have also noticed a couple of changes without these being communicated:-

1) Concurrent connections: Previously one was allowed 5 but this has apparently been reduced to 1 on the new system. This does not work for me as I am letting my mother use my account as she uses very little data and a friends mother who is not computer literate and uses the internet for just email and the odd skype session.

2) Open time data: When I purchased my Xtreme Home Uncapped account this was from 00:00 to 18:00. I see the website now only shows from 00:00 to 08:00.

None of the above has ever been communicated. The account is no longer worth it if the above remains the case and will be looking to move over to Vox.

Does anyone know whether old accounts will revert to the above or will they honour their original pricing and benefits?

The internet experience has also been extremely poor on the new account. My old account details still work and is much better (old crystalpremium account).
 
Yeah, I've been seeing similar slow ness, though I *can* get line speed on my account, it's by running multiple connections, but a a single connection can't cope anymore, only like 70% of line speed on the CAPped times ;(
 
I switched to VOX. Very happy with things so far.
 
Switched to Telkom from Mweb. When I approached Crystal Web, they couldn't recommend a package or even bother to get back to me.
 
Unfortunately the time has come to move on also unfortunate is one more month on their network due to cancellation request sent after 18th of the month. No resolution yet on concurrent connections..........
 
Yes.

They're not answering phones anymore. Phone mailboxes capacity at max. You just get cut off.

Live chat never gets back to you.

Feedback in general is non-existent.

It's a dying company in my opinion.
 
When you're trying to become a backbone, internet, and last-mile provider, it might be a good idea to make sure you're protected against DDoS attacks that have targeted your company before in a malicious manner. And, you know, have a back-up backbone while you're transitioning users over to the new one just in case there's an unexpected issue.

The lack of transparency and timely updates reminds me of that period in Afrihost's past where they just couldn't figure out how to run their network over-subscribed, and it ended up in Gian sending everyone a "heart-felt" message at 3AM in the morning.
 
I have signed up for a Cool Ideas data only package for the rest of the month while I wait for CW to release my fibre line. Will move the line as soon as practical.

There is only so much I can take from my ISP.
