That explains so much, next upgrade is to get proper sound.

As I said, have just started playing games again after a 6 year hiatus. Also, playing on an i5 laptop with HD4000 GFX....not exactly set up for gaming yet. But it's fun so while I get my new PC, this will have to suffice.

I swear I'm not hating, I know basically everything I've said has been "negative" but I promise I'm trying to be helpful.

I saw your other post about Battlefield 4 and I don't want you to hate CSGO like that.

I haven't taken anything you've said as negative, I know it's intended as constructive and I have taken it as such, no worries :D

Defs need an upgrade, hence my PC shopping. Just a lot of other things requiring cash at the moment.

Up until last week I played on R150 earbuds.

I still game on my laptop but I get decent frames with all the graphics turned low. About 115 -130fps on Dust2. Nuke hurts my machine though, especially when guys throw smokes.

I don't have a desk either so I game on a tray on my lap with my mouse on what little of the tray is left for it after my laptop has consumed the rest of the tray real estate.

You can make a setup work.

I feel like having proper sound and being observant, like using the mini map etc, is almost more important than having decent aim.

I still prefer my 5.1 speakers to play but the other day I tested my new headphones for gaming and they were amazing because they actually have soundstage compared to the "flashy" Samsung headphones I would use from time to time.

I completely forgot it's only Rank 2 now to Comp.

Urban do you have Prime Account Matchmaking enabled, I think all the guys here would prefer to play with Prime to lower the chance of playing against hackers.

Edit: Never mind, you can enable it later once you've reached Rank 21.

I am more relaxed in comp, the pace is a lot less hectic, it's more strategic and a more calculative game overall

EDIT: I am on 98h currently. @Urban I loved the kill vs Da BEAST through the door with the AWP at mid :D

I have seven comps. The idea is to get it up by the weekend, but I have not been giving CS much attention lately.

I'd be keen to see what I rank at eventually. I am watching Urban's game right now, but they seem almost done

It was an interesting match to watch.

You tend to double peek on T side looking down towards mid doors. The other team will most likely have an AWP pointed at you so it's never a good idea to peek out with an AUG in the hopes of getting a kill. The AWP is a one shot one kill even if they clip you in the elbow, so when faced with one rather find another way to their side and surprise them. You will pick up plenty of hints along the way, but peeking is always a bugger that I too struggled to adapt to at first :)

Also, try not to shoot your teammates when they come down long towards Bombsite A :p

Yea I did that a few times. Didn't really work did it

All part of the learning curve.

Also, shooting him was totally unintentional and I felt so ***.

Don't worry, I do it all the time. Sometimes I get so caught up in the game, I forget to look at the mini map.

You pick up very quick on what to do and what not to do during matches. There are a lot of dynamics at play, more so in comp when you have to manage funds more wisely due to having to buy armour and defusal kits etc but that actually makes it more fun to me.

I played two casual matches now and we had a 'member' of their team with previous VAC bans that played very suspect...prefiring around corners on Nuke, keeping his crosshair on people behind cover from across the map...and he got real defensive when I mentioned that he appears to have x-ray vision:whistling:

I ended top frag in the second match, probably not bad for someone who hasn't really played for a month but I did make a lot of daft mistakes. Also, the new update has really messed with the sound as I cannot even hear footsteps of enemies in the room yonder :( I turned off the HRTF but it still doesn't sound...right.

As for shooting your own team, it happens. Casual is a lot more forgiving there and you will find that some members will knife or shoot each other for kicks at the start of the round. Just don't be like this one kid we played with that forgot he was in comp and knocked 70% of my health away before I even saw an enemy:mad:
