The reason the game feels better at 200fps is because it reduces your input delay, and the brain is very, very susceptible to input delay, as I've discovered with my experience with VR. Were talking about 2-12ms which is the difference between getting sick and not getting sick. If one can pick that with a VR headset, you can pick it up with a mouse cursor when you move it.

So 200fps, google input delay and do all the fixes, turn off DVR if you have windows 10 etc.
That's the smoothest experience you can get from a fps. The lesser the input delay appears, the faster the game will seem to run.

Played some casual last night after Urban_Bunny's invite...was fun. Haven't played the "other" maps in ages so Office, Inferno and Aztec were a bit awkward.

Was the first time I played with the saturation all the way up - game looks a helluva lot different. I took a screenshot of UB in his funky terrorist backpack but when I looked at the screenshot, the colours looked normal. Doh!

I was really hoping for some Assault/Militia action, just because those constitute 3 years of my life when I was but a young, drunk teen. Maybe tonight :D

Oh and where's the screenie?

I play with the lowest settings possible. If the graphics is set too high it becomes very difficult to recognise objects, and it munches much needed FPS.

Getting 280fps on average so haven't tinkered with the default settings the game selected when I installed it. The saturation thing is done externally in windows using this little tool someone very kindly wrote called vibranceGUI. Check it out - it really made the game prettier though I can't say I'm hitting more people than before.

I am in process to look between proper designed FPS mice. Currently playing with a Corsair M65 which have an optimal ergonomic design, but the laser sensor is a no go… Corsair has launched the M65 PRO which has an optical sensor which I may consider. Then there is the Steelseries Sensei and Rival 100/300, and their RAW alternatives, also the Logitech G403. I am not considering the other brands, I have tested many, some come short and other have a ridiculous price tag when you can get more or less the same at a better price.

Then I have also recently won an ASUS ROG Spatha MMO mouse which is said to be as heavy as a brick, also a laser sensor with 150 ips and a 2000Hz polling rate in wired mode, whether this improves the ‘native’ acceleration I do not know, but the heaviness and laser sensor alone make this an impractical FPS gaming mouse.

I have an Aorus Thunder M7 MMO gaming mouse, which is lekker to play with as the sensor tracks in sync with my wrist/elbow movements, BUT the mouse has poorly designed DPI changeover switches which are extremely touch sensitive.

At the end, I need an optical mouse, one designed to do FPS gaming. Which would you consider?

1. Corsair M65 PRO
2. Steelseries Sensei RAW
3. Steelseries 100
4. Steelseries 300
5. Logitech G403

I am asking an opinion here, because I really don’t know which one to buy???

Hmmm okay. I have everything set to low which is not what the game defaulted to, but it is what works best FPS-wise.

I'm going to install CS:GO on my mac and see if it's any better.

Not on your list, but I use a Razer Lachesis.
I really enjoy it, works very well for me.

Lol, how big are your hands? :crylaugh:

I use a G400s...I like Logitech mice but I haven't spent alot of mouse and keyboard. Think the mouse was 400 bucks when I got it.

I use the G400s and paid R212 for mine.

It was used by some pro players when it was released so I think it's still fine for us.

My only gripe with the Razer Lachesis is the laser sensor, and I have trialled these to death. Even a poor optical sensor provides me with better tracking, I’m talking about the precision between hand and mouse. The there is the price.

I have experienced many SteelSeries mice go toe to toe with their Razer equivalent, but the SteelSeries products are very open to wear and tear. Most hardcore FPS gamers that I know has worked straight through their SteelSeries rubberised grip within months.

Yep, I know one local pro player which is still loyal to his G500S, but I hear that the G403 is a superb replacement.

I don't really like a mouse that looks like a spaceship or transformer so if mine ever dies I will probably get another mid level Logitech G series like the G403.

im using the Corsair M65 PRO, best mouse i have ever used! i havent really programmed the other buttons just yet but i have gotten used to the keyboard

It is high on my list as I am used to the design, my M65 is now slightly more than 2 years old and it’s like new to me. I clean (or service) my peripherals regularly.

The M65 PRO has the Pixart PMW3360 Sensor, now I know through several pro gaming communities that the PMW3366 provides more accurate tracking. Essentially, I don’t want to end up with the ‘same’ mouse.

To add sensors to the list,

1. Corsair M65 PRO (PMW3360 – Optical)
2. Steelseries Sensei RAW (ADNS9500 – A laser sensor claimed to have zero acceleration)
3. Steelseries 100 (Custom engineered 3059-SS - Optical)
4. Steelseries 300 (PMW3310 – Optical)
5. Logitech G403 (Exclusive to Logitech PMW3366 – Optical)

Most gamers that I know whom take their FPS games seriously starts with the SteelSeries Rival (or Rival 100). I do not believe in RAW laser sensors; laser sensors have native acceleration so it may be some on-board throttling tech that they have implemented to make it ‘more’ RAW in that sense.

Zowie which is highly regarded in the competitive arena are all equipped with ADNS-3310 or ADNS-3090s optical sensors. The Razor Chroma has a custom engineered 3989 which is said to have the best tracking, but that alternatives with the 3310 is better designed and lighter than the Chroma, and this is reason why so many have Zowie as their arsenal.

Many pro players are either equipped with Razor or SteelSeries in tournaments which are mostly due to sponsorships.

Mice used by pro awpers,

kennyS - ZOWIE GEAR EC1-A
GuardiaN - SteelSeries Kinzu v1
JW - ZOWIE GEAR EC2-A
Skadoodle - Logitech G Pro
WorldEdit - ZOWIE GEAR ZA12

Other players like GeT_RiGhT also opts to have Zowie, most NIP players have Zowie which is not on their sponsors list.

Virtus.pro, the team which I have supported since day 1, all Steelseries, but they are sponsored by Steelseries,

TaZ - Rival 300
pashaBiceps - Rival / 100
Snax - Rival 100
NEO - Kinzu v3
Byali - Rival 700

I see many awpers playing with the Steelseries Kinzu, a mouse which is easy on the wallet.
