how do you guys stay motivated , i have been trying to get much better , to get into the pro-scene , but , i have accepted fate , and realized there is always someone better , no matter how hard you try , no matter how hard you practice , what is the point even , i havent played cs for days , i just feel im wasting focus and energy on something i will never get better at , at first i was hopeful , and was willing to give it my all
I think you are just missing one thing; the way you practice.
Aim is important yes so keep that up but if you are playing FFA and match making games... you will never make it to the next level.
Knowledge is one of the most important ways to make yourself better than the other guy.
Do you know every grenade angle breach on the competitive maps.
Do you know how to stop rushes.
Are you better with pistols/snipers/rifles - play to your strengths with these.
You must know every spot where the enemy sits and the best way to kill the person at that spot (e.g crouching as soon as you breach a certain door is better than running etc.)
The sound distances of footsteps and tracking using sound.
Can you beat someone when it comes to defending a bomb/defusing a bomb.
Watch games from the top teams, study their movements, their spray handling, their tactics etc.
These are just a few of the aspects which will make you a better player, you will need to practice this stuff with buddy or clan where you can just drill it over and over and over. Trust me, becoming pro is not easy, requires more work than a full time job TBH.

Try get in with one of the top 5/10 clans in the country, ask them to take you on just as a trainee or something, just so you can scrum with them and stuff. That would be the fastest way to learn. GL Mate, CS is easy to play but difficult to master![]()
Which sites can I use if I want to sell my skins for real money? My inventory is probably worth about R2000.
Finally giving up on this game![]()

Regarding the new ranking system, I can't find decent matchmaking games any more. Most people are just trolling and smurfing now. Deliberately deranking to go to silver.
The new system is strange… LE dropped to MGE and we won the match. I’m stuck on MGE, now I am in the same bubble as you. I know two TGE players which had dropped to LE winning three games in succession.
I don't really mind the new ranking system, I've stopped caring (trying very hard to at least) about my rank every since I realized that I WILL get a stroke one of these days, raging all the time. What bothers me is other people deliberately ruining games. CS:GO just isn't as fun as it used to be.
Wouldn't it be better now that the kids have gone back to school?
I thought this is the year I start playing competitive but if people are just messing around I'll stick to arms race.I get home after 15:00. School kids are home at that time, so not really. I played 3 games yesterday. Won two, mostly because some/most of the opponents were smurfing/grieving. Lost one, mostly because my team members were smurfing/grieving. It's really hard to get a decent game now.

It's just got worse since the rank adjustments; people can't comprehend the changes, they just want to rank up all the time.
Now that lots of players who thought they were pro at MG and similar, are deranking to Nova or silver, they feel cheated and as such they are taking it out on Valve.
The only issue is, they can't get to Valve so they believe that Valve have f-cked them over so now they will do the same.
Problem is, they just smurf and derank now which was their biggest gripes before.
So the game has come full circle now.
Tbh, you should play Comp if you want to.
Go play Bilosoft Pickups rather, you'll enjoy it as the players there are all pretty good.

I've never played a comp game since owning CS:GO, I probably won't run into the issues you mention. What are pickup games or pickup servers, are they just community run servers instead of the Valve run match making servers?
