I successfully petitioned Santa (aka Mrs mountain_lion) for a smart watch. :)

Over the holidays I tried my hand at building custom watch faces using the Facer platform.
They have a web based creator with a not to steep learning curve and allow you to share your creations for free.

Anybody else here using Facer or other platforms like WatchMaker / Galaxy Watch Designer etc?
Which platform do you prefer and why?

My first attempt was this:
https://www.facer.io/watchface/HxTIRrVbvU
c6cf1718c04206f6b51bcd4a9fb89b6c_gifpreview-gif.gif

And then I challenged myself with this:
https://www.facer.io/watchface/DQl9GCshpI
3ea677cf250a2b55b14cf26bf90bbe8f_gifpreview-gif.gif

and then did even more just for fun (beer glass, lego, new year etc).

See https://www.facer.io/u/mountainlion for all my creations, they are all free to use if you like. (You do need the Facer apps on your watch and paired phone though).

I haven't worn a watch in ages, but also looking at potentially getting myself a smartwatch, these customizations are awesome and definitely adds a tick in the should get one column

Same here; been using my cell phone as watch for years, but it started to feel like a step back in time to the era of pocket watches.
It is nice to have the time available on my wrist again, plus the added bonus of viewing messages & notifications without having to take out the phone.

Designing my own watch faces is however is what I enjoy the most of having a smart watch at present. :)
You should get one.

The thing for me is I am always around a PC so I have time around me most of the time, when I am not near a PC I don't really bother with the time so I'm fine using my phone. But I might just actually look at getting a smart watch, I've thought about it for a while, and might as well take the plunge

Not really, I just download them from Garmin Connect.

Not that interested in making my own.
