Cyberpunk 2077

Update 2.0 drops tomorrow:

For those who want to buy the game now or revisit it. I am not going into the sneak peeks made months ago already or the reviews made in advance this past week.

I can't wait to play Phantom Liberty on the 26th. I guess I will be replaying the game next week.

This is the old PC recommendation:

I am only intrigued by how CDPR managed to maintain the same game size? Perhaps they improved their compression.
(Cyber) psyched so start my first proper play though (have started twice before, maybe an hour or 2 each time)

Did they give a time the patch will be available?

CDPR declared Cyberpunk 2077 a relaunch with update 2.0. The game, not the DLC, is discounted right now. Odd discount, since it is marked down 40%, but has since November 2022 been at a steady 50% discount when on special.

Not something to complain about, but unusual, and it seems that CDPR is attempting to cash in on the Phantom Liberty hype. Hype is strangely absent amongst the community, but it is at a time when other IPs simply have more interest. The game has already sold very well, so I have no idea how many new buyers they could get.

Update 2.0 / Phantom Liberty also seems very well received by the reviewers. Many are giving the DLC 10/10.

On Steam, the pre-purchase CP2077/PL bundle is priced at R 808.13.

On this note, OT, there have been amendments made to price parity, and some publishers have already adopted the new model. Prices are going up against the $, and in some instances SA will not be a cheap region anymore.

I would take the reviews with a pinch of salt, since same as with the reviews before the game launched, they are not allowed to use their own footage and have to use the footage CDPR provided

Red flag there

I do hope it's good though, but I am not about to get the DLC at that price tag

I have seen Skill Up complain about it, but he also noted that CDPR have nothing to hide this time around.

Hope so
Really want it to be good

He also mentioned that CDPR provided both console and PC copies to be reviewed.

I do understand his criticism. In my opinion CDPR should have dropped update 2.0 earlier and not dressed it up as a new game release or remaster. They are attempting to seperate the 'new' game and the DLC, and this is possibly why reviews are being restricted, again.

Yeah. Or they could have just released the DLC today with the update and allowed own footage.

Just hope my save works. Its heavily modded. And I already restarted and finished Pacifica again to be ready for the DLC after I had issues with Judy's diving quest (bad mod, since updated) very late into the game.

That said I see nothing to be concerned about. Enough people played and talked about it by now. If there was something wrong someone would have generated clicks already as everyone was looking for faults after the launch ****up.

Wait

I thought the DLC brings big changes to Pacifica and is not an end game DLC, but take place in the middle of the main story, so doesn't that mean you will need to start over again?

Nah. You just need to be with the Voodoo Boys in Pacifica, around "I Walk the Line", at or a tad before or after. I finished that and "Never Fade Away" just to be sure and ready personally.

Don't really want to start again. Platted this on PS5 (2.5 playthroughs) and1.5 playthoughs on PC already.

Seems you have to wait 3 years now for game companies to sort out all the bugs and stuff before you buy. Probably cheaper and the chances you have a better GPU to run the game as well.

Hopefully patch 2.0 is available at about 5pm

No idea how big a download it is gonna be, hopefully only a few GB and not 10’s of GB

I really don't get why they didn't drop 2.0 and Phantom Liberty at the same time. Would be ideal, since Phantom libery changes parts of the city and expands the map, so if you want the full experience you have to wait another week.

Remember, back in late 2021, early 2022 there was a huge game leak which was debunked by CDPR. Well, what was debunked turned out to be truer than not.

Now, the leak was made on 4chan, so yeah, but here we are. Updates contained in the leak were brought into the game via updates, and now we have the expansion.

What gave the leak credence was that what was data mined, then the source code leaked and soon a DLC was announced. I won’t be surprised that much is already contained within its current release. Looking at the requirements, the game's size remains remarkably the same.

Not really. Below is the area which contains an inaccessible section:

and this is Dog Town planted into it,

There are some changes made to the world, but I am not going to spoil it hence I am not going into the reviewer's remarks. It is all experienced best experienced by the player. The expansion can be played at any time. The same outlets who recommend starting the game anew, also said that it is best to play the expansion with your endgame save.

Well personally I'm jumping in next week Tuesday. That should give enough time for modders to update what needs updating anyway. Down to 34 after deleting a lot last I played.

Not risking booting up the game today.

Will just get emo Souls on GP for the weekend.

I reinstalled the game a moment ago. I won't touch it until the DLC drops, but I will be replaying the entire game next week.

The game's current installation size (Steam) is at 67,4 GB (72 437 204 186 bytes).
