Cyberpunk 2077

Colour me impressed. I submitted my refund request on the Microsoft Store for Cyberpunk, which I'd purchased for my XSX, and when the ticket stated "Awaiting review" I figured I might hear back on Monday. Nope: five minutes later I get the notification that I'm getting the full refund back to my credit card. Microsoft ain't kidding around on that offer.

I refunded it because it is stupidly over-hyped. The glitches were inexcusable, but as the GTA:V comparison videos have shown its core mechanics are shallow or broken by default. *shrugs* Probably a good time to grab the refund offer if you're also on the fence.

These missing features coming in dlcs/patches?

Meh, people are starting to nitpick on the game. Obviously, promises were made, but it was all conceptualized at the time. The demoes promised nothing. I didn't want to add to this thread simply because the game has been a disappointment due to two reasons,

1. Bugs (yes, it did impact my progress, don't tell me otherwise and even though I could complete the game it did impact my decisions and rewards)
2. The game desperately tried to be Deus Ex and it couldn't be the next Deus Ex. I have played every Deus Ex and damn, how hard did this game try to be Deus Ex and unique at the same time.

As I said in another thread and elsewhere, this game isn't GOTY material but will become a cult classic in the time to come.

Generally, I have been okay with the game, I loved the story at the end, but everything else is a carbon copy. Sorry, diehards. 7/10.

I thoroughly played the game and many 'admitted' cameos are missing. I guess the DLC will contain them, and seeing that we have hit the $70 AAA mark, I wouldn't be surprised to see them hit a season pass at the $40 mark, simply because investors are mad the moment.

Sad how everyone who wanted this game so badly and so much said that Cyberpunk should release and that CDPR is on track... you all should have given them until February. CDPR is bleeding at the moment and the market has spoken. When Jim Sterling is right you should know, numb nuts.

So we are now the problem?

Unlike FF14 they didn't grow a pair and come clean. Would it have been too much to ask for them to say "guys we ****ed up, but we are releasing as EA on the PC first and then next gen; followed by current gen"? I would imagine a lot less flack if they went this route april with target dec 2020. I mean, even agony's team remade their ****up on their own releasing as-is promised game without ms/sony's censorship requests.

And you can't horse-****-in "conceptual promises" where made in. I'm sorry but as a developer my clients got exactly the product we signed off within the time I speculated. Sure it is not The Open World game or The Cyber Punk but the processes stays the same. They ****ed up; and as I've already said... this was the title that caught up with their way of doing this. However, I'm still going to say that who you take to bed with you is they who are going to have a good part of influence on this. It's vampire bloodlines allover again.

Personally: I'm not going to suck cdpr's cock's *just because*.

So ja. lyne is getrek.

Nee. CDPR set a date, which they postponed again and again, and again, and every time they postponed their horsemen raced to the rescue.

The game is a mess, and CDPR should have said, listen here market the game is going to need a few more months, compadre, but you cannot possibly say that to investors without reassurances.

Last year February they said, publicly that they 'need' to launch two AAA titles before the end of 2021 and this came from a question asked of a possible The Witcher 4. It was evasively answered, but knowing the details, I am sure they are set to begin on The Witcher 4 after the Christmas holidays. What does this mean for the consumer, a much smaller team working on fixing CP2077, and what will be the priority? Fixing consoles. Many game-related issues will persist until they fix compatibility and performance issues.

Before someone blames investors, listen here, they are the people who enable things to happen.

Well I mean to be fair the delays were attributed by CDPR to "polish" and it was reported that even the base consoles ran the game just fine. This gave the false impression that the game was a lot more "done" that it actually ended up being.

Read my post above. The only crunch which happened at CDPR is that of the promises of those in charge, and that siphoned through to the rest of the team.

Many posts ago I joked that the CDPR's 'head' team is trying to become the next Houser's (the guys who made gaming 'real'), and they just couldn't reach those expectations. CDPR's goals fell sort of what Rockstar and Ubisoft is doing, but to digress this is their first attempt at a universe other than their safety of the Witcher. Bethesda have been doing it for yonks. Origin have been doing it since the 70s, and why EA haven't pursued Origin's IPs is beyond me because it is incredibly rich in gaming material, and yes, I am talking about Ultima.

CP2077 wasn't ready, they made promises for financial backing after rescuing GOG from liquidation. They still have time to remedy the situation, but for them to do, so they need to fix the 'compatibility' across platforms, meaning that bugs may be on the end of a long list of demands.

Pretty much what MGV said. As much as I suspected. This will not be fixed soon and anyone who have dealt with this in real life knows. I do.

We call them the human cheque-books, but caesar will have his dues for his time, energy and money spent. Shareholders (anecdotal) imho are more part of the problem; alongside the "exec" in their glass castles dreaming of dollar cheeze-burgerz.

CP2077 wasn't ready

What im struggling to understand is that they had since May 2012 to make this game, sure they may had to rewrite/edit their entire game engine to accommodate new tech such as RT. They had more than enough time.

GTA 5 took ~3 years, cant tell me they they have been working on the storyboard for 3 years then dev for 3 years to release a game like it is in its current state...

I just dont know.

Likely a combination of scope creep, a lack of full time development focus, number of dedicated dev members, conflicting direction, conflicting priorities, stakeholder interference, etc.

Basically all the reasons why any development project would be either late/incomplete/both.

Runs fine on my PC. I am happy with my purchase. This is actually a freaking good game.

What is meant by its current state. This game is much better than anything out there. Some people seriously had unrealistic expectations it seems.

I am playing this game and AC Valhalla every day. This game must do much, much more that AC Valhalla to make the game world work. Its scope is infinitely bigger. They have done a great job with what have come out.

What I find interesting is the hype bois canceling their orders. Hype bois gave the game GOD like status, heck even on the box art says "Over 200 awards". For what?
Just because the same studio made Witcher 3, now people expected this next level game it could never be.

(Never played Witcher 3 myself, so had almost no idea who CDPR were)

"Never pre-order, but this you can" - Some randoms on the internet.
Now all we hear is this cancel culture k@k.

I for one am just glad to have spent R729 to experience a sorta new game from a different company.
Of course I had quite a few bugs, just made the game more interesting.

Like when I finished the Delamain quest and could not get into the taxi as both doors were closed by the other taxis.
Then had to reload the save point only for me to be stuck in the server room as no options appeared. Had to reload to another save point only to find another way the task could be completed. It was fun.

People discussing what paths to choose months before release and trying to get to a certain ending... WHAT? You haven't even played yet but know the endings and how to get there. What's the ****ing point in playing then?

*I get a feeling I'm in for a shitty ending...

I bought this game to actually play the game and currently enjoying it so far. I was expecting GTA V-2 more features and what I got was GTA V-2, some features missing and some added.
Seriously, what features were people expecting? Custom character traits? We've been having it in FFXIV:

Atleast it has 10%(Give or take your system) more detail than GTA V:

Too bad we don't have a major Pokemon thread here or even a Zelda Breath of the wild. But I can confirm, just like this game I will pre-order those, complain how underwhelming its going to be(Actual game play experience might differ between those 2), accept it and still enjoy over 100 hours of it.

I'm not bashing the game i'm just saying that the play testers would have found the common bugs very easily, yet they left it to go onto retail copies.

Driving mechanics was definitely coded by a ex boat captain.

They had every right to, The Witcher 3 was a goddamn masterpiece.

And they did it in 3.5 years.

Could have been a secret "B team" that developed this, just like what happened to fallout 76.

Pirate the game. If it’s good enough purchase it or don’t. I see the game was cracked on day 1 for PC
