Cyberpunk 2077

Oof
Latest pitiful patch tanking the steam reviews

Steam dropped by 00.01% since yesterday.

Yesterday (75,37%): 318,600 (+) / 101,181 (-)
Today (75,36%): 318,690 (+) / 101,246 (-)

The rating has been dropping steadily since May.

All which went up is the minimum daily peak since the patch release, which went up by about ~300 players (30-day average), but the average peak is down by ~100 players, so I guess people checked out the new patch and then exited the game, most likely the modding community checking on their mod compatibility.

Recent reviews went from 'very positive' to 'mixed'

I'd say that's quite the change

Now that the game is returning to PlayStation, they added this disclaimer,

Users may continue to experience some performance issues with the PS4 edition while we continue to improve stability across all platforms.

which is them acknowledging that issues persists. They made a dig at Sony some time ago.

I don't game often, but I did launch Cyberpunk again on PC a few days ago and once again no isues whatsover. Guess I am just lucky with the build I have

I enjoyed my time with the game but it clearly has some stuff that seems half-baked compared to similar games in the genre, the AI behaviour specifically is really not great and often breaks the immersive experience they're going for.

I haven't opened it in a while but will go back if they release some more patches that make more significant improvements.

how is the game performance on pc vs launch
I never had issues on launch and I will have to go back and see if I posted any FPS figures, but to me it does feel a bit more smooth, even with RTX on.

I was running it on a GTX 1060 which before it was released was the "recommended" graphics card. It's clearly not the case anymore. I experienced multiple.........multiple.....crashes and I cant work out if it was Cyberpunk or dodgy 'Cyberpunk Nvidia Drivers' or a combo that did it but the instability on my rig was appalling. Then the bugs in the actual game, were flipping criminal and immersion breaking on a constant basis. Couldnt clear a certain room because the enemy AI was on the other side of the wall and had to shoot his hands a hundred times to kill him. Couldnt kill the drones at the end of the prologue because there was no gun in my hands and I was literally holding thin air. Floating cigarrets, guns being pulled out of heads instead of chips, being given air when Im supposed to be given a gun.....holy **** it was so bad in so many places. The main story line is quite short, Adam Smasher is a bit of a noob and not much of a challenge to kill at all. It generally felt half-baked this game. There were some parts where, when it didn't crash or throw weird **** at me, I was like "woaaaaaaaaaaaa! this is amaaaazinggggg!". Carnival mission was my favourite by far - it was so so good.

So I feel like, if they add some extra content (FOR FREE damnit), and they resolve the bugs and sort out the stability, I would love to have another go at it, start at a different point and spend more time in the world on the proviso that the immersion isn't breaking all the time.

Yikes, I wonder I have been so lucky then
Im running Intel with a 1050Ti OC 4GB card

I have RX 570 4GB which has given me a good experience so far. Before the updates and so on the game was chugging along and crashed on me a few times. After the update before the last one the game ran alot smoother and I didn't experience the crashes I had before so that was a big plus but there are still one or two moments where the game decides to glitch. I haven't tried the game yet after the latest patch.

There's videos comparing GTA V vs CP2077 AI. It's pretty hilarious considering one was released recently and the other 8 years ago...

OT:

I am surprised that Cyberpunk is not on this list,

small_amd-fsr-game-dev-support.jpg

currently, the reviews I have seen looks too good to be true.

AMD and CDPR worked together to get their 'ray tracing' working and I expected FSR to be available at the soonest.

EDIT: added AMD's hype

CDPR really needs this to up the ante on CP2077, but those numbers...
