Cycling

Obviously we've known for a while that this year's Tour won't end in Paris, but it's just dawned on me there won't be any champagne doing the rounds either.

The last stage is traditionally largely ceremonial. They'd normally be drinking champagne, taking photos etc in the build-up to the final sprint. That obviously won't be happening in a TT.

Good. Always find the jokes and stuff boring and annoying.

The arrival on the Champs-Elysees and the final sprint are always Tour highlights for me though so will miss that. Hope they never finish somewhere else ever again after this year.
 
Nice, awesome to see the Patrouille de France again!

Great Tour for Tadej but other than his dominance, there's nothing that really stood out for me overall this year.

Not really, to me it was no different than other green jersey winners. Green jersey competition was boring this year.

Now if he was South African it would have been a different story :)

It was good to see someone unexpected take the honors after Jasper Philipsen started as favourite.
It was a pity though that Nico and especially Anthony kept hammering on how he's doing it for Africa and all black cyclists. Isn't it enough that he's got talent? Why does he have to be burdened with doing it for a continent.
Tadej didn't win for all white people and the European continent. He won for his team and for himself.
 
I always find Anthony a bit boring and annoying and this year he learned something new: to end almost every sentence with a question lol. "isn't it?" "did you?" "haven't they?". That plus everything was massive. One guy crashes... "massive crash". One guy attacks... "massive attack".

It just never stopped :laugh:

I remember the massive crash and it was just one rider.
 
Tadej has given his national federation the middle finger and withdrawn from the Olympics. He's pissed that they didn't select his fiance (who's their national champ) for the olympic team.

Spiteful people only spite themselves, but then again he will probably just have a go in 4 or 8 years.
