D3 Demon Hunters Conclave

You misunderstand what I'm saying. Sentries have a 0% proc rate for effects from items. It will proc skill effects.
From sentries:
CA Dazzling Arrow - will work
EA Lightning Bolts - will work
Ball lightning + Wyrdward - won't work
Windforce + sentries - won't proc knockback
Dazzling Arrow + Vaxo - won't proc clones
etc.

It seems to synergise with some of the new gems though. Read somewhere that Pain enhancement can be initiated with Centries.

So I've been spending way too much time on Reddit, reading everything I can find about M6 and Sentries.

Based on this link, it seems you get the most bang for your buck by either having CA+MS+EA or CA+MS+Imp as your spenders. (I say "based" because after comparing seemingly all the possible combinations, that's the two you can pick when doing the simulation)

And also, on this spreadsheet, you can see what would be considered BiS stats per item. Annoyingly, I have gone to great lengths to get +CA damage on all my items, when I should have gone for MS. Damn!

On a side note, I've found a fun build and gear combo for just farming bounties and normal rifts on T6. It obviously won't work on greater rifts, but for everything else it's a lot quicker. I remove Entangling Shot for Chakram - Twin Chakrams. I swap out my Bombadier for a Spines of Seething Hatred (Chakrams now generate Hatred). On T6 I find I rarely have time to get out more than 2 sentries before everything in an area is dead, and between myself and my max 3 sentries, the entire area is covered in chakrams in a matter of seconds. It's fun, and at least a bit more interactive than the normal "drop sentries and run like a little girl" approach.

Very useful information. Thanks a lot. Guess I should use my math skills now. :D

I am running with 5 sentries at the moment and yes T6 bounties/rifts can be done with 3 only as the elite/champion packs start to die by the time number 3 is put down. However high level great rifts is a different story. Elite/champion packs stay alive long enough to have all 5 sentries up.

At the moment I am gambling to get a better 2h crossbow or bow. Would like to run a bow for more attacks per second to see if it helps with the sentries but no luck finding a good one yet.

I have used more than 3,000 shards to gamble for a 2h weapon, and I have received exactly 0 legendaries. Luckily and ok'ish Pus Spitter dropped for me, but I need a Ramaladni's gift so I can get attack speed on the weapon. Wow I am struggling to get to a breakpoint higher than the 1.46 APS one.

Also a useful site for me, as I can't log into bnet from work: http://diablo.mercwear.com/. It shows your current breakpoint level. Then, I use this spreadsheet to see what I need to get to the next breakpoint level.

So what gem setups are the DH favoring?
And are their any builds other than the Sentry build viable at Grift 30+ ?

Created a Season DH to play around with on the side (main will still be the monk).

Sentry is still the only viable spec, with Trapped and Enforcer as the mandatory gems

Yassus, I really need to get RoS. I've replayed the campaign and my DH is currently lvl 59. I have some nice legendary gear but they're getting overshadowed by some of the rare drops now so I guess upgrades are in the future. Don't want to play any further cause my cousin told me that leveling to 70 is a waste if you don't have RoS.

How do you guys show your chars for comment?

The useful gems: Bane of the Trapped, Bane of the Powerful, Enforcer and Zei's Stone of Vengeance.
Personally I'm not a Zei fan, you have to really place your sentries at distance etc to get any benefit.

Pain Enhancer and the Toxin one can also be useful now, depending on the build you use. The toxin one also now works with sentries.

Season DH: Shadowkill

Sheesh - forgotten how effective a group of Marauders can be - ddrd, Von and myself melted through T6 last night (and I haven't optimised my build yet)

When you don't actually have to stand in the poison/laser/lightning/fire, etc it makes a huge difference.

Need to roll a socket onto at least one piece of jewellery - bit low on ChC/ChD though.

Need to:

Bracer: Vit off ---> ChC / ChD
RRoG: Vit off ---> ChC / ChD / Socket
Amulet: Area Damage off ---> ChD / Socket
Helm: Vit off ---> ChC [put Amethyst in Socket to compensate for lost Vit]

Not sure what to roll on these:

Shoulders - what to roll - Vit or Life for All Resist or just leave
Gloves - rolled with great ChD / ChC - leave as is or roll the Vit?
SoJ - rolled ChC - if I get enough somewhere else, can roll a socket later
Boots - Armor for Vit ? or just leave for the time being
Bombadier - ?
Chest - can't remember if I had to roll those sockets - if not, then I'll replace the FanOfKnives bonus with Cluster/Sentry/Multi

Since the Ammy has a nice 17% cold damage boost, will be changing Runes to cold ones.

Fun times

Given the 17%

My gut feel is that Powerful will be more effective solo, while Toxin will be better in a group if the group has a similar DPS output to what you have. If you have a Calamity however, toxin wins since currently equipping those two allow sentries to apply marked for death

I want a Calamity - I really like MfD - so much so, that I'm willing to to give up a slot for it :o
