DA no longer recognises Mbete as Speaker

Where ever you find capitalism you will find corruption

True, just as wherever you find complex life you find you find disease
Cells give rise to cancer

Economic corruption is the cancer within a capitalist system
collapse the capitalist system and you eliminate economic corruption and replace it with brute authoritarian oppression

Replace the capitalist system with a theistic society and temple prostitution will follow as a cancer
Replace a capitalist system with a feudal society and sefdom follows as a cancer

You mean theocracy.

Besides sex work as prostitution is now known in South Africa, although not in Holland and other more enlightened parts of the world, is not a bad thing surely.

Even ANN7 agrees with the opposition parties!!

Communist systems have even more corruption. Or shall I say had, since they have all failed (except NK).

Mixed systems, like SA and China are pretty corrupt.

What system are you punting that will have less corruption ?

PRC is still communist, when it comes to the political system. And the economy is also controlled by many party men. Many of these CEOs are party officials.

NK did not fail? I mean it exists but thats all.

No I mean theistic society - whether under a theocracy or some other form of -archy provided that there is a subversive theistic overlay- temple prostitution being the very specific problem where sexual favours in various forms are traded through the religious institutions as a power structure.

The sin of Sodom has nothing to do with the orifices involved or the gender or sex or the persons involved but rather the emergence of a culture within which sexual favours become a currency of power

Did not fail the elites who still rule there.

It failed their society. The elite channels all economy via their own accounts and feed little back to the society. Thats corruption. Look how fat Hardy (Kim the fat one) is today.

Most of the current West is still a theistic society. So are you saying temple prostitution or some modern variant has crept in there or do you mean some real theocracy type setting? Maybe something more narrow.

(or do you mean organised hierarchical religious institutions? But in that case the corruption can take the form of pure financial compensation in at least as many cases, if not more.)

No many societies in the West function as theistic sects - and they have temple prostitution problems, the pastor of the sect church who has adulterous relationships with congregants and blasts out against homosexuality ...

However the preservation of a theistic society of large numbers tends to be a lot rarer and instead what tends to happen is a multiple theistic societies within one broader polity - so the United States during the Bush Jnr era was creeping towards being a theocracy with thousands of theistic societies.

Being religious does not mean being in a theistic society and being in a theistic society does not mean being pious - quite the opposite

Well lets not replace capitalism with any of those options, then, shall we... Jeez...

Capitalism is unfortunately not sustainable and while it was the best, most beneficial, system for an industrial society with apparent unlimited resources, it is now simply no longer relevant or sustainable. It will ultimately fail as our circumstances have changed- in a world of limited and diminishing resources an economy focused on unlimited growth cannot work.

What we need is an economy that has different priorities to maximizing profit and personal wealth. We need to take care of each other and the planet as our primary priorities, maintain sustainable profit and limit personal wealth. This cannot really be forced, it actually requires people to make these choices, to find the will to create new agreements with each other, about the way we deal with money, and the way in which we place value on the world around us. For the first time in the history of human race, due to the growth we experienced through industrialization and capitalism, we now have the technology and ability to be truly abundant. There is enough to go around, but we need an economic system than can act as a foundation support such ideals.

I am SO glad "I DO NOT SHARE YOUR VIEW OF WHAT CONSTITUTES SUCCESS".

Read again and please try to comprehend.

SUCCESS FOR THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE.

I never said success for the majority.

Do you think millions did not have a good life in the Eastern Bloc? Of course they did. Those who were connected had it very well. What counted first and foremost was party royalty. Your competence did not matter and was secondary or not important at all. The lower levels were filled by competent and non-connected people who simply did not have things as well as the others. In the East we had millions of such connected people who benefited from Communism. They made the cream of society. These people all benefited and all had a good time. The elite class in NK enjoys benefits, and for them NK is a success.

Note that I grew up in an Eastern Bloc system. I marched in May Day parades as a kid. Thankfully my parents and closest relatives were never party members. But many people did sign up for the party and depending on how high up they were, and who they knew and how fanatical they were, and who they were related too, they were very well off. Of course the majority suffered.

In the 40's Stalin would tell the Communists in the newly "liberated" countries where the Red Army assumed control that if it was not for the Red Army, then these comrades would long ago have been "covered by caps" of the local population, i.e. kicked out.

Fsck that, it's not my responsibility to look after people that choose to not lift themselves up. Why the hell should I excel when your ideology is gonna limit my income and encourage others to become leaches riding on my coat tails? It's not my responsibility to support your seven children you brought into this world and cannot support! I owe you fsckall, legislating it via taxes etc that I have to look after you is nothing but tyranny or mafia tactics. You can go fsck yourself as far as I'm concerned, I don't expect others to care for me under legal duress as it's wrong and I do not support a system where I rob you to pay for my own shortcomings I'm a firm believer in a free market economy, the cream will rise to the top.

I think people are blowing this parliamentary thing too much out of proportion. Have you guys seen the videos of Taiwanese and Koreans fighting in parly?

And a place like Italy. How many governments do they form each year?

Corruption is not a function of a system, but of the people who (ab)use that system. However, it is true that certain systems are more easily corruptible.
