Like capitalism, communism is no longer relevant. It was a philosophy about a society that was very different to the world we live in today. What ever replaces capitalism will be something out of the box, something new that's doesn't fit into the old categories and ways of thinking.

What I do know is that staying with a vertically integrated system – based on large corporations with fossil fuels, nuclear power and centralised telecommunications, alongside growing unemployment, a narrowing of GDP and technologies that are moribund – is not the answer.

Or many other ideas being discussed. P2P economies, gift based economies, etc. We know we need money and that's not going to change but the time for capitalism has come to an end, it simply cannot sustain itself
 
Only two types of people who will be a communist.

1) very stupid and very poor.
2) very clever (not necessary, at least they think they are) and willing to enrich themselves by robbing poor people.

I'm not Communist at all and if you can only see two choices capitalism or communism you have a serious lack of imagination.

Absolutely rubbish, Yeah there is many ideas and so far nothing was as successful as capitalism was in history. Only idiots and fools will claim capitalism is dead as while there are humans they would want to capitalise on their achievements and reap the rewards for their efforts. Those lazy asses out there that wants everything for free are the ones crying about the notion of "fair" distribution. The tale of Africa.

Well said but the sad sacks will disagree. You know....the world own them something as long as it's for free as they are to lazy or stupid to achieve anything by themselves.

Correct. But then the argument is against bad governance, corruption, ineptitude etc. not having a social safety net funded by tax money, in principle. His post was very universal and unequivocal.
