A very bad idea.

I understand the idea and the necessity behind it. But once the idea takes hold that the constitution can actually be changed, it will be changed. People will more readily accept it, because it has been "done before and it was ok".

This should not be done. Not while we have a wholly corrupt and criminal organization such as the ANC in charge.

Not to mention that the spastic given the title (already selected no doubt) will have zero subject matter expertise and will surround himself with equally incompetent wastes of skin.

The full tinfoil theory here is that they're slowly maneuvering to censor any dissidence against themselves or even splinter faction EFF.

Lol, does the DA really think there are ANC Cadres who would be able to fill this roll?

The ANC on the other hand is stuck between a rock and a hard place. They probably love the idea of having another role to deploy a cronie to, but can't stomach the thought of implementing something suggested by the DA.

Maybe in a few months time we will instead see a "Metaverse Commissioner"

Nope! cause they will piggy back a bunch of BS stuff into the changes ... stuff that will allow the goverment even more rights to spy on its people.

You are aware that its been changed 17 times before this?

And the Constitution is a living document, so it does need to evolve with the changing times.

Unless this will include a drastic change in the way SITA is run, it's going to amount to nothing.

SITA is run perfectly though.... I mean they've just got R400m from Home Affairs for a network upgrade.

I haven't worked with any network and security team who are as defiant and arrogant than those employed by SITA.

:D

But like they have stuff, and a whole country and they must be good at what they do.. right? /s

Can also be viewed as defensive and suspicious of outsiders.

I worked with that organisation extensively in the early 90s as a vendor (mainframe tech) and they were a good bunch (maybe a bit "civil service" in attitude to hours, but civil in all respects).

This current lot are afraid of being exposed as clowns or crooks, but whatever it is they are a major obstacle for vendors and an utter failure for their customers. But then just look at their leadership. How many CEOs in the last few years, and how many tech project failures? I stopped counting.

I am aware of amendments that served to clarify and correct. I am not aware of any major introductions.

However, I do stand to be corrected on this, legalese confuses me as much as the female psyche. If not more.

There have been more than a few introductions within the amendments over the years, there have also been abolitions within those amendments as well, as well as clarifications and corrections.

Interesting, thanks. Anything major, worth of taking note? Something like this proposal would be considered major in my opinion, not aware of others. I opened up one of those in the link you dropped, and my brain saw the legalese and went "no we took a left turn at Albequrque"

So a major addition from the high level splurbs at the top would be the ability to move parties and keep the seat... a high level abolition would be the removal of that as well. Both I would consider major.
