DA-run Khayelitsha sees 70 percent crime decrease

this country will be run by the DA eventually, if they can put up more posters like "70% crime decrease" rather than "STOP ZUMA"

uhm no.

it should be "free houses" "free hairdryers" "free water" "free laundry" "free electricity"

The DA have run the area since 2006. I assume the areas local councillosr though are mainly ANC.

All the stats are very impressive except for drug related crime and driving under the influence. That has seriously spiked. Do you think this is because there has been more police presence so more incidents have been reported? Or there just has been that increase?

Some of each.

Definately more police presence, there are the same if not more people doing drugs these days. If the failing war-on-drugs in America is anything to go by the police forces time would be better spent chasing the hijackers and murderers.

my only conclusion from this is that the DA has better statisticians than the ANC, kom ons weer nou maar eerlik, misdaad gaan nie 'sommer' verminder oor 2 jaar nie :)

Those are usually under a heading "Crimes reliant on active policing" or something similar. Most people don't go to the police and report a case of drunk driving or drugs unless it actually affects them, so it's up to police activity to get these stats. They're the only stats that maybe should go up.

I would love to see how much of Die Wes-kaap the DA gets in the next national election.

Wow this forum is really displaying its fondness for hypocracy today. A SAPS link for crime stats is posted and it seems NOBODY is doubtful of their authenticity. However the same source is rubbished in countless other threads on this very forum when there is a claim from government that there has been a decrease of ANY kind in the crime stats.

Yet again, I wonder what different now...
;)
