Madzda3, Honda Civic or Hyundai i30
Mazda3 2.0L Individual has Sunroof, Honda Civic 1.8 Executive has heated Seats. Mazda3 has a smaller boot and legroom is only average. Both the Civic and I30 have bigger boot and better legroom than the Mazda3. The i30 has slightly better legroom than the Civic.

Hi Everyone, thank you for all of the comments. I am inclined at the moment to a Renault Clio / Captur or Kadjar.

Otherwise a 2011 - 2014 MB C180 / C200 / C220CDI might also do the trick. Heated seats will virtually be impossible to find but will check out the market.

Thanks.

I must say, the boot space of the Clio IV is deceptive.

I always thought it had a tiny boot, but at nearly 400 litres it is quite impressive

Really hope you don’t get any of they cars you just mentioned. All terrible choices

Ah, right.

Have you considered a Suzuki Jimny. There are several around the R200K mark on autotrader. Will be light on fuel and smallish 4x4 with reasonable capability. You may have to spend some money on a decent audio system but that shouldn't break the bank. I think there is also a thread on the forum somewhere about the Suzuki Jimny.
They are not great on fuel, especially considering their size and performance. That is their main weakness.
