Can anyone confirm my suspsicion that Cell C is one of few ISPs that refuse to send a notification / warning when a person is about to reach their data cap? I wonder what their motivation for this might be?

I get SMS notifications when my Cell-C bundle is almost depleted.

That's interesting - maybe they only refuse to send notifications for people that subscribed to their Woosh special? I've got the 5GB per month special and I specifically asked them if they can send me notifications - they say they can't. This makes their motives even more suspect because clearly their system can send notifications if they want it to!?

I am also on the 5GB special package and I get notifed once I have less than 250MB remaining, (also sometimes when i hit under 100MB), of my monthly bundle. Strange that you dont get this? I would have thought it is a standard process/procedure? You should most certainly take this up further.

Are you talking about having the notifications sent to a different SIM to the one in your modem?

I'm talking about any form of notification - they have my email address - they could easily email people with a warning that their limit is being reached. My sim is not in a phone, it's in my Netcom router which came as part of the deal from Cell-C, so I can't receive sms's on that sim.

If you router is unable to do USSD or SMS you can check your balance online, see Cell-C Online Account Info thread.
