CURRENT PROBLEM

Certain Customers who have purchased a data bundle in June have forfeited their data bundle 2009-07-01. Customers who have purchased today have an expiry date of 2009-08-01 instead of 2009-09-01.

Escalated to BSD(billing and Admin)

Guys i will keep you updated.

I bought my bundle on the 29th of June, my expiry date shows the 2009-08-1. I assume i'm one of the lucky ones?

I actually cannot believe the difference in service levels between Voda and MTN/MTNSP.

If this were MTN, the process would go much like this.

1) Customer discovers problem.
2) Customer has no choice but to call 808
3) Customer holding for 50 minutes. Call dropped.
4) Customer calls back
5) Customer holding for 15 minutes. Call dropped.
6) Customer posts on Hello Peter
7) Customer calls back
8) Customer holds for 12 minutes then gets through to "consultant".
9) Consultant denies any problems on the network/SP side, offers to do you a favour by looking into it. Customer is told to expect a call back.
10) No call back.
11) Repeat steps 2 - 8
12) Eventually a few months of this repitition leads to someone with the necessary level of competency and care picking up the problem, and fixing it.
13) Customer has still received no response on Hello Peter.
14) End of contract period - Customer is offered a mobile phones at a more subsidized rate and therefore decides to sign again with MTN, rather than porting to Vodacom.

Sad state of affairs at your yellow rivals :|

How is their call centre though? ;)

I *hate* trying to contact Vodacom call centre and today I couldn't get help but try. I've yet to get help ...

I am seriously considering changing to a prepaid sim with vodacom for my E220 modem . Will I be guarenteed "up to 60 days" of data usage . I am now at wits end with MTN , they cannot explain to me where my GIG went , yes my gig , not just a few megabytes .

Thanks for the info, so we should hold back using our "forfeited" data otherwise we'll be charged OOB rates?

Hi Smurfatefrog

I suggest you do just so until we come to the bottom of the problem

Why don't they show the time on the vodacom4me website when your bundle will expire ?

I bought a 2GB bundle 2 months ago to see how much data I use on average. I had about 1.5GB left to blow and the vodacom4me site said "1 July 2009" was when my bundle expired.

I thought I would blow it all tonight but I just got an SMS saying "Your bundle expired". Why can't they show this on the website ?!

Like in "Your bundle will expire at 14:32 on 1 July 2009"...

AFAIK, the time your bundle expires is on the day that the website shows, at 23:59:59. (or the day before at 23:59:59 cant remember now).

Not in my case - this morning I still had lots of data to burn, now I have zero.
If they are gonna do it in the middle of the day, please show the time. I am not impressed.

OK, I just bough some more data, this time 500mb since I used 500mb over two months. It now says : Data Bundle Expiry Date = Saturday, 1 August 2009 (wrong, I know - but thats Vodacom)

I am pretty sure that at about 14:50 on the expiry date my data will disappear.

I got an sms this morning saying my bundle had expired. When I use *111# to check my data bundle balance it says:

You have 0 MB available to use. Your data bundle will expire on 20090801.

 The expiry date is right but the balance is wrong. This was just one of those 5MB (with 25MB free) bundles on the sim that stays in my phone.

I have a 2GB bundle active (+/- 1.5 GB still available on that up to last night) on my other sim that I use exclusively for data. Will check this evening what's going on with that.

@VCD, any further updates?

Just got one of these as well on a pre-paid SIM, do I need to call 155 and report it, or will they all get fixed automatically?

My top up sim used for data only is fine - still shows the correct balance and expiry date.

The sim in my phone is still not showing the correct balance:(.

Hi Smurfatefrog

We doing an impact analysis , this needs to be done across the entire network as we need to rectify those who have not called into the call center and those who have not checked there accounts,we have our developers working on this around the clock and expect resolution by COB tomorrow.

Thanks

So if we have been affected by this, must we log a call or not?

Hi

No need to log a fault. We will rectify all customers affected, not only those logging faults.
