Dear Vodacom

Why do customers who want data bundles have to buy airtime first, then load it on their SIM's, then convert it to data bundles?

Why can't they just buy data bundle airtime and use that instead of the PITA steps outlined above?

If so, link please. :)

For 1, i know FNB Internet Banking users have this functionality in the IB Portfolio, but not all the bundles are listed. I wish the other banks could do something like that.

Also, i'm not sure if all, but some Vodashops have a Voucher system where you just supply them with the cell number to which you want to load the data bundle on, and it gets loaded OTA.

Dont you also know about the SMS feature?

FNB ,Standard Bank and ABSA as far as i know

I can buy airtime via Standard Bank online banking and send it to a mobile phone number, but must still login to VC4M to convert it to data.

Guess what Libs wants is to purchase a data bundle for a phone number.

Like i mentioned, FNB has a functionality like that.

There also this:

VTime

Libs, is right. Besides FNB's Online method and the VC store, the others are long routes, plus sometimes the *111# service has its issues

they can send you a data bundle directly to your sim at any vodacom store

All but one of these methods are long, tortuous routes... If I want to put petrol in my car I stop at a filling station, buy petrol and off I go. I don't have to buy some liquid, go home, log onto a website that might not be functional and convert the liquid into petrol...

At least you do have more than one option to purchase airtime and bundles. If you take all the garages out of the equation you stuffed.

You all have got to read the link about data direct on vtime's website.

Data directly to your SIM. So convenient. It has changed my life...

With vtime you don't even have to go to the filling station...you just refill online...man, you don't even have to open the petrol cap...the data just appears directly on the SIM!

;)

So , you have never had any issues at all with them?

VD, I can't help but have a sneaking suspicion that they might be paying her salary. I might be wrong, but something about a new user and a strong recommendation for a website who stand to make money out of users raises alarms for me.
