Data issues

Hi all,

I have a 3G card with MTN and a Tablet with data (both 500MB) with MTN and neither are working.
It's the 4th of the month, generally my stuff are on wireless (via ADSL) so I never, if ever use my data.

Yesterday, I tried to connect (because of the ADSL outage in Cape Town) and there was no traffic coming from ANY of the units, this included my girlfriends 3G device whom never uses it.

Today I check on my tablet for data and it says I have no data packages.

Anyone else having these issues.

apparently if you dont use a simcard for a while the networks deactivate the number.best thing is to contact mtn and ask them to check if the sim(s) are active.

I do use the sims, but rarely, and they are on contract so they can't really do that.
On the 2x 3G cards, when you connect and check usage, there is data, but no traffic at all, nothing.
On the tablet, it says there is no data packages, but I rarely use the data (once every week or so)

Hi Dr_Data,

I went to MTN @ Somerset Mall and apparently it's because I don't have any data (according to the system)
However, when I queried the issue with my GF's 3G, he gave a excuse that it's because the MTN towers are being changed over and that could be the reason why we not having any data with the 3G cards.
Suffice to say, I don't believe it, but I just tried my GF's 3G now and it's still not working - I've let my initial go because apparently I have no data (saw on the MTN system) but hers is full and no data happening there.
It shows it's connecting as 3G HSDPA whatever but NO data is being sent or received.
