Got a little situation with MTN:
For voice calls i use Vodacom but they only have 2G service where i live so i use MTN for prepaid data.
Monday i loaded a R389 - 2GB bundle -
Wednesday it drops out and shows no signal -
I was thinking there must have been tower problems till i tryed a differant sim in my modem today that whilst has no credit on it it does have signal.

Long and the short of it is the sim with the 2GB data on it got cut off 2 days after loading the bundle as there's been no calls made for 90days on it.
It was however recharged with R390 and the data bundle purchased on Monday.

Called them today and to supervisor level their saying sorry theres no provision for reactivating that sim or transfering credit to another sim.
Waiting for manager to return call tomorrow.

Anyone had this before and got any success getting credit back?

Hi
Please PM me all the details. The cell number in question, as well as your contact number and I will investigate and try to resolve.

Sadly they lied to you. There is a mechanism for transferring credit, however it takes a certain level of worker to do it, which is why they tell you they can't. I did this once when I credited the wrong SIM.

This is one policy of MTN that still leaves a bad taste in the mouth, just like you can only buy one data bundle per month. Everything else about MTN is great except this. I am sure they will be able to resolve this for you.

Hi
Your card has been reactivated and the data that you lost has been credited to your account, please confirm?

Another fine example of how using a call centre is useless - but making a fuss in public works.

Its more along the lines of having someone who can actually talk to the right people.
DD nice one for looking into it, always nice to have someone on the forums helping out.

Back online with the lost remaining data now.
Dr Data very graciously sorted it out for me,Thank You Very Very Much Sir.
Thanks also MyBB for providing the medium for it to happen.

MTN I hope you look after these guys for going the extra mile that does'nt seem to be in place via your "normal" means.
Thanks again DD
