I recently went to Upington and they have the longest date palm avenue in the Southern Hemisphere. (That's pretty much all they have, by the way )

I bought a packet of pitless (depitted? deseeded?) dates and they really are lovely, yummy and sweet.

Do you eat dates? Any ideas for incorpating them into cooking?

My aunt used to be a caterer and she made these, they were so yummy! I actually forgot all about these bites.

Yip, I know the dates from that area.....huge and juicy!

Rather enjoy them in their natural state.
