Dealer madness or this normal?

If you buying from a dealer, its not really voetstoets - CPA can come into play

Depends on the dealer, but I would have thought the same thing.
But still second hand cars out there are priced way more then they should be

Ok so the on road fee also includes road side assistance, tyre thing and body work thing. Sadly I cannot get that removed.

Unless you desperately need the vehicle, you can. Just walk away from the deal basically.

On road fees at most places aren't cheap the fact that it includes that all for R6500 is fine with me

Ahh I play a different game... If I don't want it I don't pay for it and will happily walk away from a deal if it's not to my liking.

Last place tried a 3k on the road fee and were kinda shocked when I went 'nah, I'll do all the stuff myself so just take it all off' bit of push back until I said it is gone or the deal doesn't happen.

But I suppose with a new/newer car that might not work as well since people don't negotiate properly anymore so if I don't accept the fee, the next guy will.

I'm contemplating a new car next year and I'm already expecting them to be shocked when I have a set of requirements for the deal or the deal doesn't happen.

So it includes value add services you are not obliged to accept?
Think they threw it in cause I complained about the R6500, so either way it was the fee just one came with "freebies"

When the car is R30k less then retail thanks to the Xmas push ;) it's a bit harder to negotiate on the on road fees. This looks like they threw it in there cause I did moan.
