Moral dilemma, would be interested in any opinion.

There's a movie on ch. 137 TNT, couldn't record the end due to power blackouts.
Nearly a month later it's finally being repeated, and again the end would be lost for the same reason :(

It's not available on Catchup. And I don't use things like battery laptops / smartphones.

Do I just continue to accept the loss, or is it reasonable to consider it acceptable to now find it free on the web?
I'd look for it on the internet. I'm sure it is easily available. Otherwise I'm sure somebody has a text summary somewhere on the net or picked it apart on Youtube if you don't fancy pirating.

Or do you have any backup generation that you could run too get the end? Though I'm sure the Mr/Mrs and neighbours will love to hear a generator at 02:00.

It is on Catchup... not sure if you have it or not ?
Haven't seen it but I normally just look via Channels. I'll go digging through the movie options. But Transplant 117 suddenly appeared yesterday after being aired on Monday. So it might be there somewhere.

Edit: Nowhere to be found.

They did add chs. 109 or 110 (package dependent) to give repeats to cover loadshedding if Catch Up isn't helpful to you, BUT.... for soapies only

Yep, and one of their final nails in the coffin for me - we're starting to leave the service.
Absolutely useless to me. Another channel to ignore.

We sticking around until loadshedding explodes our Exploras. And then we will just have to read a book, draw or do what ever they did before electricity.

It's not pirating, although not sure how a judge would see it. A summary is a good idea thanks, but too late.... ;- )

No gennie. We're simple folk like you, use candles and things :)

Didn't realise there's still a difference between CU and CU with an internet connection. Thought that disappeared together with CU Plus....
No, but could confuse anyone.

Explora decoders - still CU and CU Plus
Online - called CU only (includes "CU Plus" content) [I think there is / was a bit of additional content as well?]
Mobile app - [same as online?]
Online decoders - ?????????

Internet is to bad for any kind of streaming, especially at night when we watch. Last night I could hardly load sites with pictures. This morning wasn't to good either but at least I could do what I wanted.

Shock of shocks - the old, better online guide is back!!

@KatieKim
Dstv running to its usual pattern. But I'm sure one day it won't come back. I'm actually surprised they've kept both this long.

And Etv is showing the Mission Impossible film I'm after on Sunday. If RSA favourite company can keep to Stage 2 on Sunday I'll be able to record it. Otherwise I'll just have to take it that the universe (Eskom) doesn't want me watching it and give up.

Does anyone have a workaround on this “Multiple streams detected” crap? There is literally no one watching on my account and I occasionally get this error.

Mine only came right after a number of weeks. Nobody at MC seems to know how to deal with it and even their full resets don't help, just use a different device to access.

One possible fix if for a browser is to reset the Service Worker entry which then refreshes itself. (Called that on Firefox, don't know its equiv. name on other browsers.)

I know this isn't a fault question but I don't think it needs its own thread.

Is there a way to skip to the end of a recorded show when the safety net has failed to record the next show. You then can't use that to skip to the end of the recording to see if the Explora has recorded the whole show. And then one has to fast forward through a whole show/movie to check if the entire episode has been recorded. I've never been keen on doing that. I'm concerned it puts wear and tear on the Explora.

On different matters my Exploras are not setting up repeat recordings for shows that get interrupted by power failures. And after months with my controllers working fine. I'm now again having problems with the info and back buttons again not really working.

While watching, first press the up-arrow (Status Bar) and only after press the fast-forward button, you'll see that you move much faster through it.
Press up-arrow again to remove it.

No problem, modern recorders don't use separate moving parts like they used to.

I would also like to get this fixed. During load-shedding, while we're sitting in a romantic ambiance created by a Magneto lithium-ion light, trying to watch DSTV on our iPad, we sometimes get that message. Nothing else switched on. Damn frustrating at times, then we have to revert to Showmax and see what's available there.

Hi, does anyone here have an answer for this problem:

I have 2 decoders (xtraview) and I use the remote IR eyes at the TV’s as my decoders are in a server room (connecting via hdmi over Ethernet). The tv’s are in different rooms, 2 connecting to decoder 2 and one to decoder 1. The system has been working fine for years, I made no changes to the hardware setup. The only hardware issue was a loose cable at the dish lnb connecting to decoder 2 (explora 2) which I reconnected and it was working fine.

The problem I have is that when using the remote via remote or eye on decoder 1 (explora 1), it also changes channels on decoder 2. I called DSTV tech and they made one change - decoder 2 to rf-in. Initially, at the decoders (I didn’t try at the tv’s via the or eye) it seemed to solve the problem as I could use either remote/decoder combination without effecting the other. That is still the case. However when using the remote at the tv’s (with the remote it eye), both remotes now change both decoders when using either of them at the designated tv. So it seems to me that the ir-eye is causing the trouble but I have no idea what to change.

Thanks so much

But that is your internet problem, not DSTV's problem?
