Dear DStv - technical faults thread

How do you rate the DStv service *technically* ?

Report card time for Canal+ , approaching 4 months already.

Online guide still bad.
Online app ridiculous - half the time it gets stuck, and at times can't do the simplest of requests like a cancellation.
Call centre (that one's then forced to use..) - each time you must give them all your details again, but one agent I insisted move on today actually managed to.... go figure.
Another call centre irritation - being asked your spam etc. delivery preference even if you've set that up online.
Online app updating - hours after getting a change made by the call centre, the app still has old info instead.

Fail

Same old, ... , same old ...

Easyview package: only R30 p/m
But to add the "access fee" (that allows my PVR decoder to record channels (and access some catchup content)) : R125 p/m extra :oops:o_O

Did all previous managements have rocks in their heads??

DSTV keeps sending me emails to say that they have cancelled my Decoder insurance.... multiple times a month... when I have made no such request. This happening to anyone else?

Did you try DSTV now on the app or website?

I see they now offer pvr functions even on the web. Set recordings. Playback etc all included in the streaming package. You can rewind, record and watch from the start. All in the cloud and works offline so you don't need to have the website or app open. Just schedule your recordings and once they have aired it will be under your recordings and available for 30 days. So far looks like all the channels on premium has it so I'm sure the rest also has it.

Thanks, but this is an ancient issue specifically about satellite and decoder usage that needs resolving now.
 
@Canal+ , here's some more problems with EasyView.

We can get it with satellite (which includes streaming) , but unlike other packages it can't be used with a streaming-only subscription...

On the streaming side we can watch 403 eNews Channel, but on the decoder side... not available.

Also, look at channels 134 and 139 - why can't Premium viewers get those? If we could we wouldn't need the extra package :-/


There's a few more mistakes / oversights, and many about other packages as well - all detailed in earlier posts here. Thanks for your interest.
 
Yeah, already too much time for anyone serious about changing the image, very little improvement seen. Might as well let this thread die.
You think since Sep is enough time to unravel the previous ones mess?
 
Development with the EasyView package.

No longer mentioned in website's package choices or comparison sections.
Definitely still available new though, turned on such an alternative option last week.

Why?
Maybe too many taking it when they might well take the Access package instead if it were the smallest choice.

A few months back they stopped mentioning the Zimbabwe equivalent, so maybe these plans were made before Canal+ arrived.
