Thanks yes I was phoning the call centre I can’t find any service centres near to me the closest seems to be Randburg but the number for that is the call centre number.
Try 079 874 1970 but I think Nemesys is likely right.

Im putting up my hand as someone that also gets the PER1 error on the Mibox android app
Wish I could say the that my eMatic worked with DSTV now...some series on catch up work fine but all live channels give PER 1 error. Netflix and Showmax work perfectly...frustrating.

If anyone finds a workaround for this, please let me know.

That's weird - because I also have an eMatic AGT-419 which I got in April, and I have only seen the PER1 error pop up once on it over the last 4 months - otherwise all all of my live channels are working 100%.

Try going into the Google PlayStore app on it, go to your user profile icon (top right), then Manage apps & games, then Updates - and install any pending updates - that may include a new version of the DSTVNow app & some system utilities, which could possibly solve your problem for you.

Not just Ematic - i'm seeing occasional PER1 errors lately on a Sheild also

Recording sport hilites (highlights) on the ExplodaTM....

Almost without exception, if a few days away the setting will vanish.
Sometimes comes back after a maintenance reboot, often not. That means they're altering something other than the time slot - why??

And mostly cricket in my case, so nothing as complicated as the masses of footie they have to juggle.

Gets worse - far too often, it's the wrong length format, or overruns, or is something else completely when you look at it.

Bah! Useless twits sometimes, they really are

(Catch up has its uses, sometimes I want things long term though.)

From my experience, only time based recordings should be used for sport. MC messes up all the time. I have often had cases where a recording had problems and the Explora then replaces it with a Highlights package of the same event instead of the full version.

Thanks got sorted went to agent in edenvale and they reformated the harddisk and decoder not rebooting anymore so exchange was not needed jusy lost all recordings dam!
Pity, these days they're able to try recover / transfer the recordings. If they were worth the cost factor.

Glad we aren't the only ones. PER0 or PER1 errors constantly on DSTVNow. Also the streaming quality is super low. I suspect DSTV is trying to discourage people sharing accounts.
Is there a fix for this issue yet? Deleted the app and everything but nothing is working. I have Mi Boxes but it is only happening on the one.

Anybody else lose recordings on the Exploda this last weekend, I know of at least one other. No PVR Subscription error, so experiments going on again.

Yes, me! And today the EPG is so buggered on the Exploda! I am seriously asking myself why I even bothered with the damn thing!

PS: remember when we thought up this nickname for this pathetic range of decoders?

I will find the rhyme I wrote and post it.

DSTV Now using Google Chrome on Windows 11 (Telkom LTE-A) - whilst watching the 05h10 repeat of 'Shakespeare & Hathaway' on BBC Brit (Ch.120) over the last 2 days - the feed repeatedly stalls and you get the 3 blue dots appearing as it buffers... this repeats EVERY 30 to 60 seconds or so - but doesn't happen when watching the 19h00 premiere screenings...

Locally fed transponder 11634 V playing up, unlikely to affect anyone here except their feed of ch. 181 NatGeo.

BTW, looks like a new pop-up movie ch. 111 season coming, so far about woman movies and no other clues...

He may have the ch. no. wrong, it's being tested on ch. 196 which has been used for spillover before, plus that would tuck it between two European chs..

I see Aletta Alberts passed away, was general head of DStv content. Not too promising as she was good at it.

Also that SABC has lost 50% of its audience in 5 years... wow!

There was only one route for the SABC when they decided to enforce certain percentages of local content - even on their only so-called "commercial" channel. The quality of content dropped overnight followed by an exodus of viewers and the logical next step - exodus of advertisers.

They must be the only broadcaster in the world that constantly drops or cans their most-watched and highest rated programs simply because of their origin or because they don't fit the new vision of the channel. A vision that has proven fatal - as expected and predicted.
