You people are going to start thinking I'm a liar, but here's another account problem just found...... I'm being charged for Disney+ as well... can't believe it, I'm supposed to be getting that for free for 3 months...

I've had enough, turning that and the rewards program OFF.

‘A fraudster is enjoying my DsTV subscription and MultiChoice doesn’t seem to care’

The Mail & Guardian sent an email to [email protected] on Tuesday 28 June requesting comment from the company’s media officer. No response had been received by the time of publication. If MultiChoice does respond, its comments will be added to this article.

There's messing around with at least 11170H today.
Old guide's day 14 has been faulty as per too-usual (near month end) for a couple of days.
SD decoder guide (non-PVR) no longer working on some / all those decoders.

Re Disney+... at least they had sent me an SMS that they were turning it on, so would have found out.

Note to self - why bother to post, little changes their efforts.

They seem to have stuffed up the new tv guide as well.

On the pc using Chrome, I am unable to swap to list mode. Huge aggravation trying to navigate it. Have to zoom out to about 80% to see all the dates. Using the mouse to drag through it, is clunky and occasionally brings up unwanted episode details. Episode details towards the end of the month on channel 117 aren't there.

On my phone I bookmarked the DStv Guide. The other day it was in grid mode, today it was on list mode. Out of curiosity to try to get to grid mode, I reloaded the site from the front page. Taping the tv guide button does nothing. Searching for the tv guide brings up a 404 error page. Give up. Bookmark is working for now.

Dear DStv. Stop repeating 911 lone star season 2 on 115 ffs. 3rd showing since they launched ME. Bring down some new shows or new seasons of regular shows from Premium. 99.9% repeat on 120. You think all customers compact + & downwards are a joke, we'll be laughing when we ditch you for streaming services or too read a book. Regards...

No guide at all this morning on my Explora 1, just now/next i-Plate info. It's been hours already, and maintenance / cold / warm reboots don't help.
Older decoders and online guides are fine.

Possible clue: VOD Status Home page - Package Info "not available"

Anyone here have a working Explora guide etc.?

Edit: Abbreviated channel names in use long after reboot, usually means a problem.

I think the new (most basic) HD decoder/ satellite dish combo is crud compared to our old setup.

That info bar freezes often now, so have to press "Exit" numerous times before it goes away (delayed reaction/s) in order to start over again ; sometimes the decoder needs a reboot to get that bar back to a neutral state.

Have since seen other reports of the Explora guide prob, so best to just wait it out.

A number of us never liked those modern Exploras / HD Decoders, never recommended them. Anything after Explora 3 seems to be a few steps backwards. Can't remember which HD Dec. model was the borderline for that.

The Explora guide has been showing signs of instability for weeks, but interesting timing that this happened just after the Flieknet channel was now physically removed sometime after midnight.

Anyway, whatever..

Taking a shot in the dark here. My mother’s Explora 1 has been without Catch-Up for more than a week now. It just says “We are downloading the latest movies, series…”

Any suggestions on what to do?

I've been stuck on that error a few times, fixed by rebooting, but doesn't sound like that will help her.
Put it down to the really bad software currently, and other than an E16 reautherisation (but not while there's these new problems) would suggest it may need to be taken to a service centre.

Thanks maybe that is the solution, she took it to an agent and upon the return the issue started. Thinking maybe they stuffed up something. It’s really frustrating because the people on the “hotline” see nothing wrong.

Guide fixed and apps working.

BTW, lots of Afrikaans movies were just added to Showmax.

@Schalkboi , can try that E16 reset now. If no good, ask them to try a "digital reset" (enhanced E16 reset).

I hope you all have checked your schedules after this mornings issues. The tv guide came back after noon but 99% of my schedules hadn't. Took me over 20 mins to set everything up again. Not because of endless recordings but because of glitches. If I've been looking in schedules I can't just go back to the planner option and head down to schedule manage. The playlist keeps ghosting when I try to get out of the schedules section, so I have to go back to the tv and restart from the beginning to get back to planner and into schedules manager.

Also the Explora 1 and 2 don't seem to pick up what episodes have been recorded so into the playlist I had to to go, head back to schedules. I have a habit of overshooting things, so into schedule manager I accidently go, back to tv mode and start again to get to the planner and actually into schedules and had to delete all duplicate scheduled recordings.

I thought load shedding had finally caught up to me.

Thanks Dstv.

@KatieKim - the last half an hour is the first time I've had a TV on today, so don't know to what extent we may have been affected earlier on.

Don't seem to be suffering the same ills you are, (us) using a simple HD decoder.

The info bar / iplate reflects 3 rows (our default) worth of info, and pressing "I" calls up the detail correctly.

I've also checked the personal Channel Group I created, and everything also fine there.

Hope the Explora comes right for you soon.

If DStv (technically) goes to the wall for me in future, then I might consider fibre and not try fix what's broken.

At that stage I hope we can sign up for Discovery+ in SA, because I'd rather not have to fiddle with a service like that via a VPN ... but that particular offering, along with current things I download would easily see me move away from satellite (in reference to your earlier post today).

I think it has also reached the point we are going to have to seriously consider moving off Dstv. Tech issues aside, there are hardly any new shows starting that we want to watch anymore. I'd do Britbox but I want an American offering as well. Netflix has never appealed and the next big one Disney also don't. Their offerings on Dstv doesn't inspire me to make the leap, nor do big billboards advertising the Kardashians.

I've read rumors that Paramount + is coming next year and that might get us to move off. I'd also be tempted with NBCUniversal.

Maybe have a look at (Amazon) Prime Video as well. They have a 7 day trail. Content differs a bit between here and the States though. 3 concurrent streams, no more that 2 watching the same content
