Jannie lied , end of story...
Iburst cannot be trusted.

Isn't there a right of freedom of speech.
They cant just delete posts because it suits them

think it's because Iburst has financial interest in myBB.... really a pitty that it gets deleted once someone is FED UP with bad services, voices it here, shows proof, and then, BOOM - deleted [you make our sponsors look bad]

*sigh*

funny how that never happens when people critisise Telkom/Neotel/Sentec, but Iburst... one bad thread, and gone... [also not the first time a anti-Iburst thread has been deleted.]

Jannie, if you ever read this, please comment on what you think about that thread getting deleted? surely if people like diegoa can dish out compliments without getting deleted, then Dusk should be able to voice his disgust withouth getting deleted.

Everything i stated can be backed up by proof.
I knew iburst was gonna pull a move like this . I just knew it and thats why i bookmarked Jannie`s statement to me and all of the MBB forum members.

Its a sad day when the most well known tech forum starts protecting sponsors instead of the people .

Ok. So all of the month to month customers have been screwed over.
If iburst told us from the beginning that they were going to remove the throtteling and we would have no option to go back to the old package, instead of saying that we were going to be able to go back in February I would have just said that Iburst sucks. Now that they told us a bunch of lies my application to cancel my contract will be handed in tomorrow.

Jannie, you just moved iburst name from a bad company to one of the worst companies in South-Africa. You're heading for a early retirement it seems. People, spread the word. Warn people to stay away form iburst so they don't have to go throught the same thing we did.

See my post here.

The whole reason i didnt want to sign a contract was the fear of getting screwed over.
Mark my words , i dont give it 2 months then the contract users will also get screwed over .
The fact is that all they did was a number shuffle with the new pricing.
If the new pricing was so attractive and so much of a saving as they try and make it appear to be , no one would wanna go back to the old pricing anyway.
People are opting to go back to the old pricing cause they saw that all it was was a numbers shuffle.

But if you are on contract, then you still have the 64kbps service. Unless of course you have billing issues and would rather go to ADSL.

Who wants to take bets that comes end of the month there will be problems with the 64k throttled for contract customers ?

Good reading here.

All I can say is I can't wait for March when I am moving house and can get ADSL.

I am sick and tired of Iburst and the speeds lately (unthrottled) is horrendous, I might as well be throttled.

I am real interested though in the outcome of this.

It's a month2month contract

In that case I understand, just let them know why you're leaving.

Looks like iBurst wants to be more like a Vodacom 3G company rather than a ADSL company.

I wonder why? (/Sarcasm)

i dont understand why you guys are moaning.

they made the new packadge scheme known months ago already.

I am on month 2 month contract myself, and altho i have a few hicupps with iburst ( need faster speed and downtime issues ) i must say i am happy with the new packadge pricing.

i get 8GB for R592 and only pay R49 per GB after that. and i dont have to suffer the 64kb slow ass speeds i had in the past.

the new packadges are far better structured, i would like to see the pricing drop even more, i think we should be paying around R30 per GB ( so 8GB packadge should cost around R240 )

but atleast the prcing is better than it used to be, i remember top up BW was somewhere around R300 per GB ?? down to R49 per GB is quite a nice dip.

I just want to know when iburst will be supplying those new 2mbps modems :D

What they fail to realise is that they have lost more than just me as a client but also ever single person i get into contact with and in my industry thats a lot of people.
Word of mouth is a very powerful tool and i plan on using it to warn people to stay away from iburst as much as possible.

Yes thats why you pay R 644 now for a 5GB +64k throttled where it used to be R599 for exactly the same...
Gullable much ?
Im not saying the boosters are not cheaper , not at all but some of us have a fixed budget for internet connection per month and frankly we are now have to pay more for exactly the same product.
Not everyone buys boosters.

No one is complaining about the prices, we are just complaining that iBurst took away a service that was for free before.

How would you like to go to Spur and they take away the Spur sauce that used to be for free and charge you now R199 for it?

I haven't read anyone complaining about prices only the 64kbps service being taken away.

Look, Iburst are no angels by a long shot, but no one is forcing or forced you to sign up with them. If the service is so bad, then just cancel it and move on. If you are in a contract, then get the contract cancelled on grounds of breach of contract contract by virtue on non deliverance of service.

Yes they are shafting everyone, but let it be their loss, not yours. Always remember, a business/company needs its customers, not the other way around.

Probably never. At the rate iburst is going they wont be around in SA long enough to launch 2mb modems.

K, so I've sent my cancellation request into Gcebile and to [email protected] ... I'm not really surprised that nobody has acknowledged receipt, but how can I ensure that its going to be actioned? Does somebody know of a fax number or somewhere I can send this to??

True no one forced me to sign with them but i was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and avoid putting money into telkom`s pocket as well as prevent buying new hardware and thus turning the R3 500+ i spent on iburst hardware into a door stop.
But one can only take so much before cutting your losses , biting the bullet and moving on.
That is what i wanted to do already when they revealed their new pricing with the 64k throttle falling away.
Jannie however played the whole community for the fool by stating that you can move back to old pricing if I/they/anyone feels its better.

Fact is a fact , Jannie lied through his teeth. End of story .

Is there no official word from iBurst yet? Surely a concern like this deserves some sort of acknowledgement?
