There is no need to take out a contract other than a cheap one to get the modem. The data bundles are month to month, and they're cheaper than iBurst. With iBurst you also have to take out a contract or pay for the modem.Check the coverage, reason a) I wouldn't go with MTN is because of the lack of coverage HSDPA coverage in my area and I don't want to be locked into something for 24 months.
For me (and any big time downloader) it's the 64kBs after cap that keeps me with iBurst.
