My GF has just bought one of the SA iPads, but we have had some problems with the Safari browser - it does not work with any of the local airline sites (Kulula, SAA, Mango, 1Time), mainly because it doesn't seem to handle long listboxes properly - we have tried all sorts of things, but nothing works.

I see that there are web browsers in the App Shop, eg Atomic.

Any suggestions on a decent browser ?

Atomic is very good, so is iCab. Not sure how they'd handle the sites you mentioned though.

Anyone tried those on FlySAA and 1Time ? Especially on the long list boxes and small tick boxes (dates, etc).

Tried flysaa with atomic, a little finnicky cos it takes multiple clicks to get up and down the lists, but still doable :-)

I use Atomic browser for my travel bookings on my iPad. I go to www.travelstart.co.za and they find me all the cheapest domestic bookings available with all airlines.

I bought Atomic a day or two after getting my iPad, and I haven't looked back. I also gave iCab and Mercury chances, but Atomic ultimately came out tops. You'd be fine with either iCab or Atomic though, they're both relatively similar.

Have you tried the two finger scroll? I just tested it on flysaa's long list boxes and it worked just fine.

I find the standard Safari browser excellent on the iPad. Like Bwana says, you need to know how the finger gestures work, to use it properly. Two fingers within a box to get it to scroll down etc etc

Yeah, tab management with finger gestures is pretty much the most important thing in a browser on a device like an iPad IMO. Hence my love for Atomic :D
