We are about to get 20 iPhones, and was wondering if there was a way to deploy them without have a Apple Server/laptop/desktop with the Apple configurator installed.

We a microsoft house, so have no Apple servers.

Just thinking of all the updates that have to happen and it just seems as thou its going to be an administrative nightmare have these iphones.

Any tips or tricks?

You need to invest in a Mobile Device Management (MDM) product. There are quite a few of these on the market. I'm not clued up on which is the best but I know Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) now supports iOS and Android and is very popular with corporates. Symantec also make a popular one.

Apple brought out a tool to setup and manage apple devices in corporate companies. Google it

Correct, but go further than your google search and you'll find out that you require an Apple Server/PC to have the Apple Configurator installed on.....i dont have Mac's.

iPhone Configuration Utility. Runs on Windows. Set up profiles, plug in phone, deploy profile. Easy.

Ask jsheed_sa on these forums, he seems to have os x taped so maybe he can provide input into iphone stuff.

If I were you, I'd run a virtualized Mac using VMWARE for this purpose. It works very well and you can familiarise yourself with the Apple environment without throwing costly resources at it. I do that to troubleshoot compatibility issues with drivers, etc.

PM me if you need more info.
